The collapse of Christianity, about which I've written previously at great length, can be easily traced to the philosophical disputes of the late Middle Ages and Renaissance. Christianity was replaced as the civic religion of Europe during period before the French Revolution. All of that happened without any significant Jewish influence. Secularization was a product of Christian Europe.
The collapse of Christianity among the ruling classes of America also began and gained momentum long before Jewish intellectuals played any significant role in shaping public life in the US. The collapse of Christianity--and, indeed, hostility to Christian faith--among the American ruling class began immediately after the Great Awakening and was cemented in place by the time of the Progressive Era--which was inspired by German rather than Jewish intellectuals. Before Jewish intellectuals or financial interests played any significant role in American public life. In our own day, the systematic secularization of American life, while supported by Leftist Jews in disproportionate numbers, was largely advanced by non-Jews. The names Kennedy and O'Connor come to mind on the SCOTUS, although the descent of popular culture in "traditional" conservative areas is what I was writing about. Christians have no one to blame but themselves. It can be argued that Leftist Jews simply jumped on the bandwagon that was already rolling down the streets of America.
If you're interested, here's a link to a brief article by Jonathan Israel. It sketches the origins of the Enlightenment in Gentile anti-Christian thought and the way in which that later attracted Jewish intellectuals. The focus then was on "Jewish Emancipation", but the point is that Jewish intellectuals of a secular bent were following in Gentile footsteps.
We are all familiar with the expression "You can't fight City Hall". It is equally true, if not often recognized, that City Hall cannot fight us. They can command, they can even to a certain extent enforce, but they ultimately, if they are intelligent, rely on persuasion and mutual respect. Ignore this, and they are likely to provoke passive resistance in the law-abiding majority, or, as Bartleby the Scrivener put it; "I prefer not to." The massive resistance now going on in New York City to the mandates, even putting ones employment on the line, underlines this. Hordes of essential workers simply will not comply. This is the future of America. Think of this as we enter 'the winter of our discontent', with inflation, shortages and a likely crash of the markets and the main street economy. The Washington establishment may indeed have found a way to perpetuate their power. For those outside the beltway, they and the media will become increasingly irrelevant.
For those outside the beltway, they and the media will become increasingly irrelevant, but only until the Beltway crowd manage to gin up a crash of the markets and the main street economy, to the point of mass starvation/ hypothermia.
I would correct that. The Beltway crowd will mis-manage and gin up a crash of the markets and the main street economy. Mass starvation/ hypothermia will result for those dependent on government, but self-reliant Americans will craft their own solutions. We had this with FDR. The '29 crash became the '39 'Grapes of Wrath' thanks to the New Deal, although you may have to do some research as official histories deify FDR. Meanwhile I knew people who made fortunes buying up stocks and real estate at depressed prices, while my parents and others managed nicely through it all.
It's the Great Reset. We are in a war and we don't even know it. Any of us conservatives or deplorables or patriots, or nativists or traditionalists or MAGA , we are all the same to them. We are obstacles to the Great Reset. They will threaten, cajole, bribe, silence, castigate, isolate, humiliate, kill - whatever they have to do to remove the obstacle. That they are yet bothering to remove us means we are at the very least still in their way.
On the Great Reset, from the Club of Rome: "In searching for a new *enemy* to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.... The real *enemy* then, is *humanity* itself."
I think the better way to put it is *human nature*. The enemy is any limit on who we can be--and those limits are imposed by our created and limited nature. The enemy, then, would be the creator: God.
Still I get what he's saying and it's true enough. In that context *humanity* could be read as the deplorable element. The adamantly normal--those who embrace a limited human nature as given in reality. After all, that's the goal of all this craziness, to wipe out normality and, ipso facto, human nature.
< "Commercial news outlets, not Facebook, have been the chief *architects of the panic* era. They’ve spent six years now coaching Trump-era audiences to act like *roulette addicts* endlessly trying to win back a loss, begging them to stay at the table, and just move their chips from one “existential threat” or “apocalypse” to the next.
From Russiagate to Treason in Helsinki, to kids in cages to Bountygate, to the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 to the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”, and the “biggest threat against democracy since the Civil War,” audiences have fallen into a freakout, and stayed there.
They wake up knowing nothing, but by noon *demand* the biggest available policy weapon be fired in the shortest possible time frame, at problems they only just heard about, with the zero-to-defund *trajectory of the George Floyd* story typifying the pattern. >
I think the incompetence theory is no longer credible. These people know full well that they are destroying our country. That's exactly what they intend. Tucker is being too charitable.
Mark--you write about how flabbergasted you are that parents were oblivious to what was going on in the schools. To an extent, the disconnect is a disconcerting change from our history. When I grew up and was in school, my parents cared a lot about the topic, even moving to a new city in order for their kids to attend better schools.
That said, the lies and gaslighting have gone on for so long, that parents just trusted what teachers and unions told them about schools. I have more hope than you that this could very well be a moment of great awakening for parents of school aged children. The regime's reaction to this awakening (DOJ sending the FBI after parents) tells you just how afraid they are about a preference cascade developing in opposition to them.
Two parent households with one parent being a caregiver is a vanishing reality in our country. This has led to parents' lives being busy to the point that accepting lies about what is going on in their schools was the easy way out. The reality of what the schools have been doing is being exposed, and it is shocking many parents. This shock is quickly leading to anger. Concerns about schools will double down on state/local GOP gains this election cycle.
WRT the military, I'm curious how recruiting numbers are looking in 2021. My searches are not turning up any recent data and I haven't seen any alarm bells being sounded by any of the services. With patriotism falling out of favor with this administration, just how many Red state youth are willing to sign up for what we are witnessing; from the Afghanistan debacle, apparently clueless and traitorous generals, mandatory vaccine injections, and Red state economies recovering much more quickly than the dictatorial Blue states. Then there is the fact that confidence in the military - at least its leadership - is at what must be an all time low like many of the other federal agencies that have proven to be enemies of the people.

"the Progressive Era--which was inspired by German rather than Jewish intellectuals", and before them, by Rousseau and the Romantics.

O/T, but well put by Taibbi, on MSM slobbering all over Haugen:
"a whole army of commercial news outlets is complaining that Facebook is choosing, *gasp*, to make money off “divisive” and “sensationalist” content.
This is like every fat-hawking *burger chain*, from McDonald’s to In-N-Out, teaming up to denounce the Big Gulp."
More stud stuff from Taibbi today:

I very much hope you're right.
