While I readily confess no particular depth in the substantive workings or scope of this AI behemoth, the article below largely sums up my sentiments on Stargate. All the chief players involved here have never seen a public-private megaproject they couldn't exploit and have shown creepily-authoritarian tendencies. By contrast, the bottom-up approach of our CCP friends seems almost benign.
Currently much of AI is simple controlled responses to questions
meaning - my experience on many subjects - simply a controlled narrative
eg: I asked AI Is Putin winning the war in Ukraine
AI responded (among other things ) as a reason for an response that Putin is losing or a 'stalemate'
Yes still calling it a ' stalemate ' """ there are signs of growing discontent within Russia regarding the war’s human costs and economic repercussions """
I asked AI to identify " the signs " - and sources
""""1. Public Opinion Polls and Surveys Recent surveys conducted by independent polling organizations indicate a shift in public sentiment regarding the war. While initial support for the conflict was relatively high, subsequent polls have shown an increase in skepticism about the war’s objectives and its impact on Russian society. For instance, some polls suggest that a significant portion of the population is concerned about the loss of life among Russian soldiers and the prolonged nature of the conflict. This change in perception may be influenced by increased awareness of military casualties through social media and independent news sources.""""
Top 3 Authoritative Sources Used in Answering this Question:
1. Levada Center: A well-respected independent polling organization in Russia known for conducting surveys on public opinion regarding various social issues including political sentiments related to wars.
2. The Moscow Times: An independent English-language newspaper providing news coverage on events occurring within Russia; it often reports on public sentiment towards government policies including those related to Ukraine.
3. Carnegie Moscow Center: A think tank focused on Russian affairs that publishes analyses on political developments; it provides insights into domestic reactions towards governmental actions concerning international conflicts like Ukraine.
I looked at # 1. the Levada Center - and the Levada Center Website has the OPPOSITE information
Here is another response - again it is as if Blinken wrote the response for AI
eg: I asked AI Is Putin winning the war in Ukraine
""""Military Objectives and Territorial Control
Initially, Putin’s strategy appeared aimed at a swift takeover of Ukraine, with expectations that Russian forces would quickly capture Kyiv and other major cities. However, this expectation has not materialized. The Ukrainian military has demonstrated significant resilience and capability in defending its territory. As of early 2025, while Russia occupies parts of Eastern Ukraine and Crimea, it has not achieved its broader objectives of fully subjugating Ukraine or installing a pro-Russian government.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in a stalemate in many areas. Ukrainian forces have successfully launched counteroffensives that have regained some territories previously held by Russian troops. The situation on the ground remains fluid, with both sides suffering heavy casualties and facing logistical challenges. """""

Straight US Narrative I have read or heard the same speech several times over
Asked AI "How many Ukrainian soldiers have died in the Ukraine Russian war"
Conclusion In summary, as of January 2025, it is reported that approximately 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died as a result of ongoing hostilities with Russia since February 2022.

" How many Russian soldiers have died in the Ukraine Russian war"
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in significant military casualties, particularly for Russian forces. As of December 30, 2024, estimates indicate that approximately 430,790 Russian soldiers have died or been injured during the war.

Larry Ellison already has a large bank account. I'm not sure Larry (being the face of the 3 from yesterday) is who I would empower with this venture. His company "Oracle" has been stagnant for quite some time. In fact, we're moving away from all Oracle products (mainly databases) over the next 3 years.
Sam is a good choice, Elon left on the outside looking and had some not so good remarks about it. Big gamble but it appears to be private equity. As long as I'm not paying for it... let's see what happens.
"Beyond the cancer biology and immunology, and putting aside the current problems with mRNA vaccine technology, there is a deeper issue here. This involves corporatism - in other words “public-private partnerships”, and the government essentially choosing scientific winners and losers. What is being proposed is not pro-innovation. It is not pro-science. This is pro- big business. This is an example of precisely what we do not need to do if we are to promote innovation and “Make America Great Again”. The role of limited government in a situation like this should be to act to insure the purity (lack of adulteration), identity (is the product what it claims to be), safety and effectiveness of any medical products that emerge from private entrepreneurship. The role of government should not be to specifically sponsor and partner with big business (or NGO) to push one solution over another - no matter how “sexy” or “trendy” the name, concept or buzzwords. Unlike biodefense, the cancer market is huge. It does not require government subsidy."
Jeff takes Ellison down for saying nerdy, dumb stuff about AI and for not being a great public speaker, and for certainly being no politician. I was just adding, for the record, another widely held opinion of Ellison. Just google "Larry Ellison asshole".
Which, of course, is not to say that Oracle has not made Ellison a mind-bogglingly wealthy man, which some (many?) would say is certainly to his credit.
Both of my comments were tongue in cheek. I'm sure you're right about Ellison's rep, which I've also heard, and I think Malone was only being minimally polite in print.
I’m perplexed. We went from early supercomputers taking up a massive warehouse, to everyone having a powerful computer in their pocket, to building the largest computers ever in massive buildings with their own dedicated nuclear power plants. Seem to be going backwards, but what do I know. I don’t have the billions that Ellison has.
This is a great observation. How is all of this computing power improving my life? Or is a lot of it being used to solve mathematical puzzles like Bitcoin and spy on me and store everything I do in the “cloud”.
Anyone remember an old 50’s sci fi called The Forbin Project? The potential for something this powerful to wind up turning into a nightmare is a monumental risk that should be carefully considered.
Make the old fashioned surveillance state seem like a Sunday picnic.
There’s a book that came out a few years back called “Our Final Invention” and it looks at the risks that AI can pose, it was informative as well as sobering and I highly recommend it.
"It's like watching two fundamentally different philosophies collide: one betting that AI's future lies in massive centralized infrastructure controlled by a few players, the other pushing toward a decentralized future where AI becomes a basic utility that anyone can deploy."

There you have it in a nutshell..................on Ellison, well stated, Mark

AB is channeling Robert Malone's views--Sarcastic Cynical Texan links the article:

Ellison is just another Silicon Valley billionaire grifter, he thinks he knows it all, just because he made a lot of paper dollars.
Dr. Malone says it a lot better that me: https://www.malone.news/p/ai-mrna-cancer-vaccines-and-stargate
@Sarcastic
Malone's post is very compelling. Thx for sharing.
Also, does it matter that Larry Ellison is widely thought to be a world-class asshole? Just asking...
You're kidding, right? LOL! Read Coffee and Covid, linked today, for more on all that.
Well, not really (kidding...).

Well Malone may not quite know him as well as others...
Both of my comments were tongue in cheek. I'm sure you're right about Ellison's rep, which I've also heard, and I think Malone was only being minimally polite in print.
Thanks for the link. I'm a bit of a AI skeptic--at least of some of the inflationary claims being made.
