DJT’s tendencies towards bombast and hyperbole are as much a part of who he is as his flamboyance, it just wouldn’t be Trump without it. Having said that, it leaves a lot of uncertainty, frustration and confusion in its wake, not to mention a pretty big amount of plain ol’ garden variety fear. Betty Davis got it right, “buckle up kiddies, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.” Or something to that effect.
China's not running the world, they are servicing it for profit at the moment building toward a world dominant economy, but my sense is that they have always seen themselves as influencing their part of the world not the entire world unless pushed by an adversary. In China, you have a hybrid version of mercantilism, communism, and pseudo free market run in a command and control style i.e. like America, free market doesn't really exist but countries at the top get rich.
He may think he runs the world, but he certainly doesn't run America. That privilege goes to 655 activist judges. Trump's worst enemy is his own mouth.
I feel that PDJT was too casual, too cheeky with his remarks. Perhaps he was toying with the super-lefty Deep State Atlantic, trying to 'get a rise out of them'. But as he holds the highest office in the USA, and as a leader, he should show restraint and decorum when he speaks, and not be flip. I am not sayng the President should be serious and humorless at all times...he should have a sense of humor.
But he should emote wisdom and self-control, not supreme self-confidence, or even hutzpah.
I agree wholeheartedly with DD and DM. But if you really believe you run the world consequences are things you THINK you can deal with later. I do believe in Trump's good intentions and want to believe in his abilities. I also think he tends to overstate things in jest. However, hubris (if it exists) is not something with which to be trifled. And I don't trust his advisors. Did I say that before? OK I did. Is he becoming an emperor with no clothes?
Is the bluster all hubristic bombast or is it tactical positioning? Who knows? We do know that it can be entertaining but it can also be rather scary when one considers that Trump's statements are not limited by current realities or legalities:
Trumps a super positive person prone to hyperbole.
This term is a huge improvement over his first term for him personally, where he was impeached twice, betrayed internally, AG was neutered, and had an independent counsel with Mueller, and an fbi and doj that were targeted him. And later an AG that backstabbed him. And was cheated out of re-election.
And yes, there are a lot of challenges this term. Gaza, lawfare, judicial overreach, Ukraine, China, Big Pharma, Big Food, illegal immigrants in the U.S., broken military, Yemen, out of control regulations, financial bubbles, yellens debt bomb, do nothing congress, China, deficit, etc.

Has anyone heard of The 4Chan hack that took place?
There's quite a bit out there, but I'm disappointed that I can't see any details about the .gov links. I never, ever, go near sites like that.
I have never been on 4Chan and the whole Q thing always felt dodgy to me but it had a major footprint on SM over the last few years.
I'm a bit slow on the uptake this morning. This must refer to all those people claiming Trump is playing 4D chess or has a secret plan.

Wrecking balls show deference to no one, and I suspect a lot more evil than good is being wrecked in this hinge-point in history

I think as Americans it is good for us to recognize those who serve our best interests. I also think it is good to monitor autocratic tendencies.

And note it’s from the Atlantic.
Yes to all you say but let's hope he doesn't fly too close to the Sun.
Anyone who WANTS that job is automatically DISQUALIFIED from holding it, IMHO.
Delusions of Grandeur
@Doug Hoover
Trump's bloviations makes me miss Emperor Norton I., Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico.

Before sf deteriorated so badly, I almost went on an Emperor Norton tour.
are we sure he didn't say "ruining the world" ?
