In the comments to the post from this morning we were talking about the signals that Trump sends—who receives the signals, how do they get interpreted, and so forth.
I find this disturbing. I don't remember Biden or Obama worrying too much about "civil service protections" or other barriers to sacking when they cleaned out vast numbers of conservatives from government and military positions. I hope that this is just the start of a vast campaign of utter ruthlessness towards the Deep State that kicks them out of power and leaves them so punch drunk that they'll which they never heard the name "Trump". We shall see.
Rooting out the corruption at the FBI, and at all government agencies, is a difficult task. There are so many people, and many of them are poorly managed. How do you identify those who are doing their jobs well and within the constraints of the rules and the law, and those who aren't?
The fact is, these agencies have grown too large, and a large bureaucracy exists to perpetuate itself at all costs. The FBI, CIA, NSA, Pentagon, etc. are unmanageable. With fewer people in the agencies, is it more likely that they will focus on the important?
Trump has a big task ahead of him, and some wheat is going to be discarded with the chaff. Government workers seem to have this view that they are indispensable public servants, and they are not used to mass layoffs and worrying about the paycheck bouncing, as those of us who have worked in civilian industry have. It's time to adjust federal government salaries and benefits and retirements to be more like the civilian world, and remove this perception by government workers that they have a right to be employed and that they are "servants".
I worked on sabbatical at a very large government headquarters (thousands) for one year in what was supposedly a critical organization in northern Va. Almost NOTHING got done. There were lots of powerpoint briefings and playtime. I couldn't wait to get out of there.
The Trump administration is set to expand a purge of career law enforcement officials, with dozens of FBI agents who worked on January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack and Trump-related investigations as well as some supervisors being evaluated for possible removal as soon as the end of Friday, according to people briefed on the matter.

What minds? A mind would suggest intelligence. When the mind you have is so tied to a fantasy ideology any deviation from their limited capacity to understand causes overload and then heads explode. Yes, delicious.
Last night Shiff was ranting that Kash had promised no retribution. It was pointed out that, Kash has yet to be confirmed and therefore had nothing to do with this and had not broken his confirmation promise.
Of course Shiff has his talking point and a microphone so as always with him truth matters not
My guess is that the majority of FBI personnel are still honest and law abiding agents who deplore what senior FBI management has done to weaponized the department and destroy its public image and trust. As such, the honorable thing for them to do is to fully cooperate with any investigation or remedial actions that Patel chooses to initiate. Perhaps a few will even relish the opportunity to do so because of the way they were mistreated during this epidemic of malfeasance. Now is the time for whistleblowers to come forward publicly and provide first hand testimony as to what they witnessed and/or were instructed to do. Congress should also conduct hearings and investigations, and give these agents a public forum. More sunlight and exposure, and if the evidence justifies it, a few notable prosecutions would be helpful in order to discourage future misconduct by future Administrations.
The culture of the FBI, like the culture of every government agency is one of corruption. Everyone working in Washington DC is part of the problems Trump has been exposing. With all due respect, we cannot afford the attitude that the federal behemoth is populated by “good” people trying to do a job. These people have landed a no accountability position with fantastic benefits. No real work required. None of these agencies should exist according to the Constitution.
I've seen no evidence that the majority of FBI agents are sociopaths, so throwing the baby out with the bathwater seems counterproductive to me. Especially since the Biden Administration has imported tens of millions of military age male illegal aliens whose ultimate purpose may be to do harm to the US. If Trump and Patel succeed in ridding the senior ranks of the FBI of political actors, there is a good chance that the agency can be restored to competency and integrity, which we may soon need to combat these internal threats. For example, the fires in LA may have been intentional set and we need someone to investigate this possibility.
The majority of FBI personnel are probably much like the personnel in any other big organisation: they go along to get along. The guilty ones should have their professional lives ruined, and the rest will hopefully be intelligent enough to toe the line with the new boss i town.
The Trump administration has told top officials at the FBI to resign or lose their jobs, Fox News has learned.
The exact number has not been disclosed, but the ultimatum was allegedly given to senior employees promoted under former FBI Director Christopher A. Wray.
The question is, are the lower level agents as corrupt as the upper level? If they're as bad, just disband the organization. There's no reason it has to exist at all. You can't have a job at the FBI hoping to move up and be like your heroes McCabe and Wray if the FBI doesn't even exist.

If we let this stand we deserve whatever comes next.

The purge appears to be heavily targeting all who were involved in the J6 cases. I'm guessing that there's a major internal investigation underway.

Is your comment satire or witless stupidity?
Lefties heads are exploding. You should see the Reddit posts. Losing their minds. Delicious.

A "twin towers moment"? Please explain.
How much actual justice was coming out of the DOJ as it was?
"Elon Trump". Weak attempt at humor.
All that sounds like great news to me.
There may be a few job openings Mark…. Back in the saddle?
That didn't take long:

President Trump’s Acting US Attorney Ed Martin fired 30 January 6 federal prosecutors in the DC US Attorney’s Office on Friday.
By Trump doing this now before Kash is confirmed he’ll spare Kash some agony down the road.
Yes, but he made it more difficult for Kash in his confirmation hearings.

Does this mean we will soon see the contents of Anthony Weiner's laptop, Hunter Biden's Laptop, or the Seth Rich Files?
I am guessing the MLK, RFK, and JFK classified materials are more related to the CIA.
I’m looking forward to Seth Rich disclosures personally.
See Donna Brazille sweat some.
Indeed.
I saw--but didn't read--an item saying we may soon see the JFK material.
I wonder if we will actually learn anything from them? Or will they be so redacted that it only leads to more questions?
Probably be redacted except for the word "pastrami".
