It looks like we are in a similar situation similar to the Germans in July/August 1914. The military machine is gathering pace and rushing towards war. Even if the leader decides to call a halt, the momentum of the military apparatus is already too fast to stop. It's ironic that Trump's presidency is being destroyed by unbreakable bureaucratic inertia at home and unstoppable bureaucratic momentum in his foreign policy.
Israel is an artificial construct, a volcanic eruption of evil, and we need the National Guard - not for simpleton rioters, but for The Lobby and hangers on.
“To bomb or not to bomb,” assassinate or not to assassinate, these are the ravings of an un-Hamlet-like figure. It seems (“seems? I know not seems!”) that Trump is without a conscience, an independent and discerning mind, as he is enthrall to the same old bleating Neocon/AIPAC war party. Still, he hesitates: “the native hue of resolution
Seems he is surrounded by worm-tongues, ego-massaged and bamboozled. How much is political? military? eschatological??? He needs to take a break at Camp David and think things through.
The three paragraphs below are from a ZeroHedge post and it sure fits with Mark's previous line of thought there's some mental slippage by the President. So, this comes after the "Everyone should evaluate Tehran" social media post earlier this week. Imagine the President's reaction if Mr. Cosgrove had followed up with a question to the President about the Tehran comment after President Trump said people have to be careful with what they say...
President Trump on Friday warned Lindsay Graham (R-SC) and Mike Pompeo to be "very careful what they say," after we asked him about their efforts to stoke the Russia-Ukraine war.
"On Russia-Ukraine, you've been making progress towards a peace deal. I don't know if you know this, but Lindsay Graham and Mike Pompeo were there on the ground in Ukraine, seemingly doing the opposite - trying to provoke the Ukrainians to keep fighting. What do you think of that?" asked ZeroHedge's Liam Cosgrove, during a quick press interaction after arriving in New Jersey.
"People have to be very careful with what they say. They gotta be very careful with their mouth, because their mouth can get them into a lot of trouble," Trump replied.
Trump comes across as a clueless/blackmailed tool. Hamlet, fool as he was, at least was not a manipulated chump. I am amazed this whole matter even needs a debate. The answer should be, NO, no military action on Iran, end of story. American politicians sound certifiably insane when they discuss attacking another country so glibly.
These thugs are replaying the same scam they used to destroy Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria, not even changing the script to any great extent.
The following would be obvious to any sane person:
1. The USA does not have the right to dictate to other sovereign nations.
2. Calling for the assassination of leaders of another nation is an act of terrorism.
3. "Preemptively" bombing and then threatening to nuke another nation are acts of terrorism.
4. Israel's genocidal actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria have permanently cancelled its victim-hood shield. There is no reason why Jewish terrorism should be tolerated any more than Islamic and Christian terrorism.
5. Israel picked its fight and should handle it on its own now. (As one wit put it: "Help! Help! We are Winning" is an SOS call everyone should ignore.)
6. Warmongers should go fight their wars on their own, without sacrificing the lives of other people's children.
7. Other people should never send their children to fight other people's wars.
It's amazing that the collection of wise and experienced people Judge Nap has access to are heard by so few people. They can all rattle off historical information that has bearing.
It was obvious from the beginning that T only listens to people like Jared who all have investments in Israel.
Our government is hopeless at governing. A bunch of crooks looking for their angle.
I think Trump is made up his mind. I think they’re just waiting to get all of the chess pieces in order before he gives the ghost signal.
One thing I am curious about the B1 & B2 bombers that are going to carry these huge 30,000 pound bombs. Will they be flying from their bases here in the United States to make that strike and then fly all the way back or will we move them once again to Diego Garcia?
What is going to happen if any of those B1 and/or B2 bombers are shot down by Iranian hypersonic missiles for instance? Those planes are basically irreplaceable being as expensive as they are to built. it’s not like during World War II. We could turn out bombers fairly quickly. we cannot turn out these kind of planes even in a matter of months, it would take years to rebuild. Lord, we can’t even get two brand new 747 for the president in a decent timeframe. So you can imagine what it’s gonna take to rebuild any of those planes.
I saw one comment saying that Trump would wait until the markets close before he gave the go order. So is it possible the war can start this weekend?
What happens in the course of a week if we get into the war oil prices are gonna go to what , 100 or $200 a barrel or more. Are we going to wake up later next week and find that the price of gasoline has risen to between five and $10 a gallon? Does Trump understand that will crush our economy? Cause rampant inflation on just about everything, especially food.. We’re all gonna be eating Ramen noodles before it’s all over with.
Somehow Trump fancies himself as a wartime general like Franklin Roosevelt, and as Colonel McGregor said he wants to sign an unconditional surrender on the USS Nimitz .
Trump doesn't do second order thinking. He doesn't want to spook the markets by attacking on a Friday, but doesn't mind spooking the whole global economy.
He's playing Hamlet to Netanyahu's Macbeth. The only way this ends is when the Israel lobby is ended once and for all. And it looks like that will only happen on the battlefield. A decisive, humiliating and crushing defeat is the only thing that will blast them out of power. Let's just hope we don't all become collateral damage in the process.
I’m most impressed by UChicago’s keeping him on (as a chair, I think, not just as some emeritus fossil) in light of his “dangerous” counter-narration. Stands to reason why UChicago was #1 in FIRE’s free speech rankings the past few years.
Good article on Zerohedge today by Pepe Escobar about what's at stake for the BRICS if Iran fails. This really is a war for all the marbles.

"Help! Help! We are winning!" Love it!
Excellently stated.
Thank you! This is a brilliant analysis.

This is some funny shit. The guy getting ready to nuke Iran.

We are going to nuke Iran to keep Iran from having nuclear weapons it might not have?
I believe that could be the next step.
I think Trump is made up his mind. I think they’re just waiting to get all of the chess pieces in order before he gives the ghost signal.

And here I was imagining that the USS Nimitz was going to be the next USS Liberty.
Might still happen
We can pray Trump “chickens out”. But it will be hard to call off the attack without some “win” for him. Prepare for a good lie.
Yep. Never thoughts I'd agree with Schumer about anything, but let's hope he goes full TACO.
The current lie is, I think, that the two weeks are ‘to give negotiations a chance’. Bloviating scatology. It’s 2 weeks to prime the bombs.
The old story remains - the bankers have given the objective, the president will deliver the strategy, and the military will deliver the tactics.
And Iran will deliver the bill.
We'll be grateful to get those Ramen noodles.

Or Trump is playing Nero and playing his fiddle while the United States burns but he gets to go to war
An even better allusion, Stephen.
Go to Mearsheimer’s sub stack and read the vicious Jewish commenters heap opprobrium on the poor prof.
