Yesterday in All Eyes Are On … Transnistria, after pointing out some of the possible motives behind the flurry of activity down along Dniester way, I remarked:

I'm quite convinced their unifying characteristics are greed and self-aggrandizement. Some like to consider themselves as intellectuals; others as being morally superior. But they all love power and money. The reality of the human suffering they cause (or for that matter, any kind of reality) is no obstacle to their lust.
