The Iran regime can't hunker down and weather the storm. If they don't respond in a meaningful way, then they are finished. It's already deeply disturbing that they were caught with their trousers down after months of empty lying by Trump. And a brief message to Putin and Xi: if you didn't know it already, these maniacs want you dead and won't stop until you are.
I’m not sure the Iranians could have been more prepared. Everyone is still trying to cope with anti drone defenses. Mossad was basically able to do a few assassinations, and reduce the effectiveness of Iran’s missile and air defenses. Anti missile defenses is still hard to do, even for the Russians.
Patarames argues that damage is limited, hasn't gotten to deep underground--that makes sense from the type of attacks that were made. Either locally launched drones or from outside Iran's airspace:

Israel inflicted pain to force a massive reaction from Iran
That, in turn, would bring in the U.S. to target critical sites like Fordow
This also means that the operation has not neutralized anything critical, besides IRGC personalities
Reality:
- High bay halls for missile & launcher maintenance have long since been moved inside the tunnels.
These are 25 year old relicts
- No damage at the rocks around the tunnel entrances, just at the doors.
I would use the term goad, instead of forced. The Iran regime has free will, and historically carefully weighs their response. A factor is doing enough of a response for domestic / internal needs.
Israel is being economically destroyed by a death of a thousand cuts economically by attacks from Yemen. Plus the continued quagmire of Gaza. And Israel has not been effective on stopping the attacks by missile defense or retaliation. My guess this is why Herzbolla has stopped missile attacks from Lebanon, they were not needed. And Israel lashing out in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and now Iran further hurts Israel’s image.
This Israeli attack was about getting Iran to stop attacking Israel by proxy. Either by regime change or by escalating the risk to Iran. Israel has escalated the conflict by directly killing within Iran high level members of the leadership.
The problem is that the Zionists will keep on provoking until the Iranians have to react. This is only going to be settled by war and when the Zionists and neocons get such an almighty defeat that even they will realise that the world will no longer tolerate them.
If Iranians were successful in getting some of Israel's nuclear secrets, it's reasonable to assume Iran is capable of otherwise infiltrating Israel, and engaging in "asymmetric means" of response.
I, with only my laptop and library as sources, could anticipate that the Pager bit, and the Spiderweb attack on Russia, were demonstrations of the kinds of internal devilment Israel would carry out. Surely Iranians knew that.
However, the Iranian thinking process -- the necessity for honesty, as Karen Armstrong and others have taught, is totally at odds with the zionist mindset, which is, basically, that of the thug and liar. Iranians may understand that intellectually but simply cannot grasp it as a way of being-in-the-world.
In my own neighborhood, Jews celebrate Purim and teach the treachery of Purim to their young women.
Amazing that so many heads were taken out, what are these guys doing, playing online games in the toilet?
Would have thought they learned their lessons after the pager debacle.
People blaring, "It was a decapitation strike!" and demand a robust response from Iran.
But decapitation of whom?
One could say USA was decapitated years, maybe generations ago. What response did Americans make?
First evidence of the Iranian riposte is coming in.
Many times,
the parasite and the host,
die together.
Iran has resisted being parasitized.
Unlike US Congress.
America is the host.
Isreal is the parasite ?
Desperate Actions in anticipation of economic collapse of the Dollar. Blame the War.

Au contraire.
It would be a genius move for Iran to flick Israel aside like a mosquito.
Having played it *trump* card, then what can/will Israel-Bibi-USA do.

GOP types like Instapundit (glenn reynolds) are orgasming over Mossad and idf special forces. Truly the most despicable people imaginable.
Huh. Didnt know anyone read Instapundit anymore, outside Israel anyway.
Me too, but there’s always the same crop of Fox News neo con types cheering on the murder. the comments are truly ghoulish.
Got it. Makes sense.

Easily repairable.
No real effect on the base even without repair.

I can't fathom such a way of being.
