Trump's "genius" is his marketing talent which he uses to position "product" favorably to his advantage, both in business and his personal brand. As a marketing man, Trump responds to trends, and he is moved by strong public sentiment. Therefore, I believe Trump is not aware of his and his country's culpability for murderous behaviours that are ratcheted up to the level of genocide against those on the "opposing side" of each geopolitical conflict in which he support, and now fully engages by military means. So, in order to change Trump's behavior of murdering innocent persons---we know that Houthi militia facilities are underground and that's where Houthi fighters would likely spend most of their time (just like Hamas, perhaps Hezbollah)---the American citizenry must hear the testimony of people who know and speak the truth about the genocidal criminal killings---how about finding ways to put journalists/photojournalists on the news programming circuit of the general mainstream shows, repeatedly, to share the truth more and more, of U.S. participation and instigation of wrongful killings of non-combatants on a massive scale!? (Matt Hoh, Aaron Mate, and Max Blumenthal come to mind as truthful journalists.) When Americans express their outrage of the murderous unwarranted behaviors in voices plentiful and lucid to the degree that Trump catches on to HIS people's anger with HIM, then, I think Donald Trump will re-evaluate the status quo of US behaviours, and will change US policy to "charge forward for Peace" for real.
It's pulled from the Donald's very own tweets in 2018,
“Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence... Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart... I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star... to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius... and a very stable genius at that!”
C'mon Mark, quit being old fashioned, Rules of Engagement and all that. It's mostly been passe for decades now....think Shock and Awe. Our ally (yeah, we might be down ot singular) has bravely shown us how to test the limits of the New Rules of Engagement for a year and a half now.
Any and all Houtis (and Syrians and Lebanese and you-name-it) are possibly hostile and therefore acctepably inconvenient, qualifying them for the new rules. If a situation presents itself, it's just "Oops, my trigger finger slipped. Not my fault!" or "They just didn't look quite right"
Hegseth may be an Ivy Leaguer but does not strike me as a genius either. Why would a guy who has a cross tattooed over his heart blow up 50,000 people's water supply? In the opening act?
Unless Trump can identify that Tribe - he may have turned support toward the Houthis.
There are a significant number of Yemeni tribes that do not support the Houthis and their activities in the Red Sea, though the extent of this opposition varies by region and tribe.
Yemen’s tribal landscape is complex, with allegiances often shaped by local interests, historical rivalries, and political or economic incentives rather than unified ideological stances.
The Houthis, a Zaydi Shia movement controlling much of northern Yemen, including Sanaa and the Red Sea coast, face resistance from various tribal groups, particularly those outside their core support base in the northern highlands.
significant tribal factions—especially Sunni tribes in Tihama, parts of the northern confederations, and southern/eastern groups—do not support their rule or Red Sea actions.
The Tribal meeting appears to be a Tribal meeting or a holiday; and it is speculated that the Tribes will now only more greatly support Houthis.
Hard to imagine Houthis would have a) an above ground leadership meeting b) an above ground meeting knowing US drones were not only threatened but active, c) an above ground meeting with no defensive arms nor military vehicles, d) the list goes on....
To believe the US story line you would have to believe that the Houthis said, here's an idea, lets get our leadership together and have a big meeting outside today, it's such a beautiful sunny day.
[ of note: also may have been a Holiday - Eid al-Fitr is the first of the two main festivals in Islam, the other being Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Fitr lasts for one day, and was expected to take place on Sunday 30th March 2025, following the sighting of the moon. In the Islamic calendar, ]
To answer your question, Both! Evil to do it and Stupid to show it being done. Definitely the problem with modern warfare it is just a video game. This act appeals to the most psychopathic instincts of human nature.
This attack on obvious civilians gathered for a likely religious ceremony is reprehensible.
The US attack April 2 on Yemen water tank and water facilities took away the water of life for over 50,000 people.
Why?! How cold-hearted and cruel.
Reports say the US is seeking arsenals of the Houthis with its airstrikes. But we are seeing obvious civilian targets being hit, including apartment buildings and residential areas.
And also tends to desensitize people to the true nature and horror of war.
Video games and Hollywood hokem have aided and abetted in that endeavor as well. As you say, this is not a good look for the nation. When you have politicians mouthing such reprehensible remarks about how “killing Russians is the best money we ever spent”, deciding to release a video like this doesn’t seem such a stretch after all. I think we can file this one in the folder marked, Sad but True”.

The US is racking up the war crimes tally, likely under the dispensationalist ideology that grants a clear conscience for anything done for israel.
Why would one even think of using the noun
" genius " to temper any discussion on comparisons to uphold a position regarding anyone in this administration .
Trump , Hegseth et al .

Thank you - I simply had no idea that he was that self serving !
They are stupid, the image provided is quite high resolution.
I looked at that image and don't see any weapons or shadows of weapons.
A meeting of civilians is most likely.
Yes, you see no weapons held by the people standing in the oval. They are not dressed as military fighters--they are dressed as civilians dress.
The group was purposely targeted...and then Trump publicly comments "oops!"
He then says it was a group of Houthis planning an attack.
I call his speech cruel, and BS.

Kathy Griffin was right (but for the wrong reasons).
Now *I'd* like to see his head on a stick (held by a Houthi)

Agreed the stupidity of posting that video much less crowing about it
Amazing - wholly cow what a gift to the resistance - damage to the US difficult to determine but large

Beware Delusions of Grandeur !
Oh, well, that's another Middle Eastern wedding party ruined.
For Yemen, a Remember the Alamo Moment !
You might have stirred up a bed of Fire Ants.
I wonder who, in the Lack of Intelligence Dept.
Thought it was a good idea to target a religious ceremony that happens every 4 years?
Unless it was purposeful to escalate the war?
Yemeni response: MQ-9 Reaper image on the back of a milk carton.
LOL!
Same for me: the guy is pretty smart, but not a genius!
