Re: the twit in New Mexico: Any time a politician speaks I wonder, "why?" I find it hard to believe that any politician does anything that does not benefit them therefore, it makes me wonder if they might be a tad nervous that something is brewing in the minds of the people. Who knows? I'm so freakin cynical by now I can barely look at them.
To your question about the motivation for the lab-leak cover-up, "Could it be because the whole project was funded by the US Deep State?"
Though I agree, I would put some emphasis on the ideological grounding of the funding pipeline. There's a lot riding on research into "pathogens of pandemic potential" and the threat posed by "spillover." The whole reason we need to spend billions and have an ever expanding network of institutions and binding treaties, etc., to meet the pandemic threat, is to meet this risk of "spillover" from the wild. To preserve this picture, it can't be allowed to be known that the research purportedly aimed at addressing this risk is itself likelier to cause pandemics than to prevent them.
It is pretty obvious that the US has funded the GoF research in Wuhan, and it is likely that funding helped produce COVID-19. Right now there is still plausible deniability, but that might not always be the case and it would be the biggest political scandal in history if that wall of deniability ever falls.
Regarding the tyrannical NM governor, another data point will be if any NM State Patrol officers are dumb enough to effect an arrest of any of those protesting with open and concealed carry in Old Town Albuquerque as the governor stated was going to happen this morning. With the State AG gone as a backstop, something tells me the wind has gone out of the State Patrol's sails after today. Being hung out to dry is not in the job description.
What is insane is that in 1991 Francis Fukuyama wrote that Western classical liberalism had won. Boy, was he wrong. We have completely swopped places with our erstwhile enemies.
Yep. I watched The Duran yesterday about the terminal decline of Germany. They outlined the decisions that the German government took of its own FREE will: close down nuclear and most coal power stations; try to replace them with "green" energy such as solar panels and wind turbines; when that failed, build the economy on cheap Russian natgas; when Russia gets uppity, sanction her so that she cuts off previously mentioned natgas; let your supposed "ally" blow up your main pipeline for Russian natgas and don't raise a fuss about it and continue to destroy your economy by sending billions of euros to the most corrupt state on Earth. Historians from other planets will pontificate long into the night whether this was mere stupidity or treason.
In any decent society the elders were always regarded as the wise. In our present society the youngsters don't even value knowledge and lack curiosity. They have no hope of ever growing wise. Yes, old age is a plus, but there are fewer and fewer people worth talking to as the years pass. And maybe that explains why our overly authoritative government is peopled with individuals that don't seem to do anything right. They don't know anything.

If it got noticed enough.

The Dems won’t dare to cross the trans lobby.
Ouch!
I guess I’m dense and thought at first you were referring to our trans admiral, birth name Richard (very hard to find interestedly).
We’re living in a totally insane world when Vladimir Putin makes more sense than every democrat senator and most of the republicans.

Would you respect old people like Biden, Pelosi, Feinstein and McConnell?
