More on Barr’s rehabilitation tour.

He is desperately Trying to fight the growing support of the belief that election fraud happened, and the election was stolen.

I wonder if he is moving the needle?

Or just further destroying his reputation?

Barr was a great disappointment to me. He seemed a straight shooter. But then, near the end, he caved. Like Pence. Like the SCOTUS. They all caved, and gave away the greatest country on the planet. It was like watching a movie. The kind where the train is barreling down the mountain and you just know something horrendous will happen...and then it does...in slow motion.

But To whom did they cave? Criminals and people who want western civilization to be destroyed. I guess they think tribalism is better. It’s not. I lived in Africa. Tribalism will never succeed in healthiness and happiness long term. You know who needs reparations? Those people.

Sure, these destroyers have dreams of one world under some kind of technocratic framework. But without a just system with member ownership, participation and agreement, tribalism or tyranny is all that remains. It will result in war. And sometimes I think that is just what they want as well. All the better to remove humans from the planet. And, getting even wackier ( I have read a lot of SF) are they even human?

Yeah, a “straight shooter”, Bush style…

I meant people who live under tribalism need reparations. Sorry.

The sex-crazed, abortion-mad, and power hungry lefties are finding themselves between a rock and a hard place and I'm looking forward to the coming destruction by their own hands. Get your popcorn ready and keep your powder dry and hatchet scoured.

Destruction by their own hands, true. But they plan to take us down with them.

Ruck, do you think the the Dodd decision will actually come out as leaked? I dont. I dont think there's a chance in Hellman's mayonnaise that Roe is overturned. The final vote will change and all of us dopes will be left w sand in our teeth and the DC Regime will laugh their Astrakhans off.

Yes, I do believe there will be a reversal of precedent in this case despite stare decisis otherwise what was the point of the "draft?" This action is not new with the Court throughout its long history. Plessy v. Ferguson, as an example.

Expand full comment

Yes, what WAS the point of the leaked draft? There's nothing binding about it. Just a draft. Why would squishy justices like Kavanaugh and Barrett and whatshisname stick their necks (and those of their kids) out on such a controversial decision? These people have no deep principle. They were perfectly willing to enable the 2020 Steal and damn all principle and the Constitution. They have sold out principle time and again on this court, so there's no apparent reason to buck everything they craveand risk personal destruction and family destruction now. It makes zero sense. And only takes one of the 3 to cave. And the benefit of the leak is obvious--- it got the D base fired up, it was a useful reminder to the weasels on the Court about what can happen to anyone who disobeys... Stare decisis has zero to do w anything.

This is huge, and surprised me…

And it’s going to get worse.

Yeah, that came out in a poll just this last week. They've never made any secret about their plans.

What surprised me in the trafalgar poll is so many believe its deliberate.

It’s taken me a while to get from the Biden Administration is Woke, incompetent, and anti anything Trump did and must reverse it, to this is deliberate.

The Ukraine fight may have been timed for maximum distraction by the Biden Administration by deliberately provoking Russia, instead of Putin just seizing the opportunity of an incompetent Biden Administration. Or perhaps both.

It was deliberate.

Apropos of nothing, other than, perhaps, (x) my wholehearted affirmation of Mark's "1980 works for me" and (y) as the starkest "compare and contrast" between what Presidential leadership used to look like and what we have today, today marks the 35th anniversary of President Reagan's speech at the Brandenburg Gate. We all have seen the money-shot "Tear Down This Wall" clips a zillion times (they're at the 11-minute mark, if interested), but this entire speech (only 26 minutes) is a profound exposition on American values as they'd existed in our history (up to that point, at least). The President's words about the Alexanderplatz radio tower at the end of the speech are a phenomenally-bold pronouncement on Western culture. Nobody would have the guts to say that today.

This speech occurred on my HS graduation day. I remember racing home to ditch the suit, grab a bag, and head to the two-day kegger. Replay came on the 6-o'clock news in the background and I just had to sit my @ss down. Best political speech of my lifetime. We still are that country-just need a reckoning and some better management.

Indeed--another gem! I should be more careful using superlatives when it comes to Reagan.

Another spot-on article, Mark. I almost hope the Dems DON'T start realizing what they are doing wrong. That means they'll just carry on straight down the path to political perdition. As one of the people in the article said, something has to give.

Expand full comment

Crazy doesn't even begin to describe the Dems. I read Bonchie's article at Red State this morning about Dem senators thinking Biden could just toss out another executive order to perform abortions in Federal buildings. And of course, military bases in Red states where abortion could be unavailable.

As Bonchie notes, this could lead to some significant national unrest. In my view, if DOJ sits on its hands, as it has wrt not arresting protesters outside SCOTUS Justices homes, and allows Biden to ignore the law, who can predict what may happen? But isn't this what the democrats want? If they're going to lose big in the mid-term election, why not break the nation in half while they still have their stiff in the WH. This could be the true constitutional crisis we're repeatedly warned about by the MSM, when Red State governors face off against a lawless federal government.

The aim has always been to destroy the USA. The Great Reset cannot succeed with a reasonable functional America still in place. Hence, they will double, triple, quadruple down until they are stopped.

I am so sick Barr and his “rehabilitation road show”, can’t believe he doesn’t realize that this pathetic display is nothing less than an indictment of his own cowardice and mendacity.

On the other issue of what is happening with the left, I think it really has sold completely out to evil. We have to face up to fact that they will literally rule nothing out to further their agenda. Human life no longer has value to them, unless it’s their own. Decency is an archaic term that has no meaning for them. They fail to realize that they are pushing this country towards a hell that they can’t even imagine.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not sure that we can assume that they will relinquish power if November turns counter to their desires.

What ensues could make the French Revolution look like a Sunday picnic.

I'm not a Christian, but all this seems positively demonic to me. As the article asks, why this insane desire to kill the most vulnerable of humans? Where does this come from?

Expand full comment

You should be a Christian. If you see evil in this world, you should find the path to salvation in God's kingdom. Start reading the Bible. Listen to "RefNet".

I have heard it said that a better translation of "demon-possessed" in the bible would be "demonized."

This makes a lot of sense. It basically suggests that "possession" isn't just a bit of bad luck, but rather the result of consistently pursuing evil.

And I think this makes spiritual sense of what we're witnessing in America today. The constant pursuit of evil has produced a substantially demonized population prepared to assault the very foundations of the created order.

Yes, exactly, as described in Romans 1:24. The habitual nature of sin (called concupiscence by St. Augustine) fits right in with Christ's injunction: "If you love Me, keep My commands" (John 14:15).

Willfully deceived? Well, yeah, there are two parts there. Can you say you are deceived if you of your own will go along with it? (Sort of like hypnosis). See Genesis 3:13: "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

Expand full comment

well, for example: a lot of people believed that Trump colluded with Russia. They were deceived. The willful part of that deception was that they chose to listen to people who had a demonstrated history of deception (Clinton, MSM, etc.).

So they were truly deceived in that they believed a lie. But they chose to listen to liars.

They're responsible for their own deception in a way that a child who believes his lying parents is not. They were willful.

I suppose one could argue that, spiritually speaking, all deception is willful since it flows from unbelief. But it's not a particularly useful declaration. You could be deceived about how the end times will unfold because you misinterpret scripture, but that's quite different than believing in gender fluidity because you reject scripture.

I can see your point, and Trump is doing valuable work by keeping the issue of the stolen election alive. My gut feeling is most of the “imaginary” actually happened. What is worse was the refusal to investigate by our media, eGOP, state gop, fbi, Congress, court system, and doj.

I appreciate the work on trying to fix the issue, but the first step is admit there is a problem. Moving on is not admitting there is an issue.

My gut feeling is Hinderraker is trying to thread a needle to allow himself not to be ostracized by the gop political establishment in Mn where he is doing very good work, while admitting there was some fraud.

Being ostracized, cancelled, censored or being lawfared are true threats.

“What we do not need is candidates who are obsessed with righting the alleged (and to some extent imaginary) wrongs that Donald Trump suffered in 2020. “

@ray. Which is why people like Hinderaker must be ignored or shamed. Because they have had in hindsight terrible political instincts and now weaken the hands of all who want to expose the Steal. And he is doing so because it would cost him personally. Poor guy. Our times call for bold thought and deeds but all we get is pablum.

@td

You've certainly hit on one of key defects in our political culture, typified by people like Allahpundit and the Powerline boys. There is this insipid weakness and stubborn pusilanimity by virtually all of the pundits who conservatives have drawn their formative opinions. We allowed ourselves to be duped and lulled into weak and submissive opinions about everything important for the last 40 years. We listened to all the wrong voices about post Soviet Russia, Islamoterrorism, national security, free trade, Big Pharma, Big Tech, US military spending...on and on.

We surrendered our country and liberties to a Uniparty and a system of Oligarchy that is beyond our political redress. And people like Hinderaker and his ilk were all there w feeding us the lies and half truths and making it seem like the next election and next election and next one would fix things.

We have been sold out and now it's going to require genuine hardship and military intervention and who knows how that will turn out.
