TLDR: "If U.S.-sponsored violence, unlike Iranian-sponsored violence, is a means to a positive end, then where is the end? To what god have all these lives been sacrificed? It seems that beyond a few parochial interests, the goal is really power for power’s sake, vengeance for imperial humiliation, and the emotional satisfaction of American policymakers."
Here's a post from Will Schryver that is food for thought on this ME situation. I'm inclined to agree. TDLR: "Attempting to "win" a war in the Levant at this point in time would be both futile and strategically indecisive. Let the Turks, Israelis, Americans, and all their transitory friends fight for supremacy on that ancient battlefield."
I never cease to amazed by the misplaced idealism and realpolitik naivete of the Russian and Russophile doomer class.
"A single Russian brigade could have saved the day!", they bitterly weep, like silly little children.
The Russians spent a decade nursing and shielding a hopeless cripple. Now they are engaged in a global war whose scope, stakes, and potential duration are unprecedented in modern times.

The advantageous battlefield stretches from the shores of the Caspian Sea to the left bank of the Tigris to the Gulf of Oman.
Rebase the Russian Mediterranean Fleet to the Gulf of Oman; bolster Iranian air defenses and long-range strike capability.
The loss of Syria means absolutely NOTHING absent the defeat of Iran.
The Masters of Empire understand this fact.
They KNOW they cannot fight the Russians in eastern Europe.
They KNOW they cannot fight the Chinese in east Asia.
Therefore, Iran remains the only option.
IRAN IS THE DECISIVE BATTLEFIELD.
If the empire doesn't choose to fight for hegemony there, there will be no hegemony left to fight for.
I agree with the broad direction here, can't speak to details, tactical level. I also agree, have written, no patience for the doomers. I don't say Putin has always been write, but he's juggling the management of a global conflict. The Anglo-Zionists want nothing better than to tie him down in multiple peripheral areas to disperse Russia's mass. There may come a time when Russia will need to act--in the Caucasus? But for adequate reasons Syria wasn't going to be the place. Also, Russia may yet find a partial basing option in the Med in Algeria.
Just listened to the Duran’s interview with Jack Matlock, who is still clear-eyed and spot-on at 95 years old. Regarding Ukraine, nothing he says is a surprise to anyone here. However, I was surprised by how frank he was about the U.S.’s sponsorship of what he himself called a genocide in Gaza. Also, it was delicious hearing him bluntly call Biden a “senile President.”
NIce to have someone with that level of experience and knowledge provide validation for many of the same views as Mark and many of the commenters at MIH regarding Russia and Ukraine. Also nice to have someone so clearly state the mistakes that have been made in U.S. viewpoints and policy since the end of the cold war, and to point out the misinformation propagated in the media about Russia for all these many years. How refreshing to listen to a true diplomat! Thanks.
I’m just throwing this out there, but I recall coming across something, somewhere a while back. That “deal maker” Trump was part of a deal to be installed this time. The globalist deep staters were willing to step aside for some sort of consideration. Nutty Yahoo was involved in the deal making as well if I’m recalling correctly.
Given what happened in Moldova the result is a fore drawn conclusion.
It will be interesting how they manoeuvre this one (presuming Romania has paper ballots). I can picture thousands of NGOs furiously marking ballots right now.
Here's a superb article on Syria and the ME.

Also, considering his age, he’s surprisingly savvy to the language and propaganda games being played in our foreign and domestic politics.
Thanks!

Too early to say who the real losers are in Syria.
My guess on the winner is Israel, funny how that happens. I think every other party ends up a loser.
I am not sure what Turkey's goal was.
