If making nice with India is once again on the agenda, pretty inopportune moment for the Twitter Files revelation Thursday that Clintonistas at State were censoring American voices supporting Modi’s BJP.

Thanks Mark, and I agree with your conclusion. I'll be writing a couple of pieces in the next few days as my schedule is finally clear of accelerated deadlines.

This line from Babylon 5 should be all you need to know however, "The avalanche has started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote."

Even the MSM here in Europe is admitting that Bakhmut is done. They are even quoting the head of Wagner.

“Hey Victoria is there any particular country that we need to slap around so they’ll fall in line with the sacred neo-con texts?” “India? Ok, we’re on it . They don’t play ball we threaten them with sanctions!” “Klaus is on line two. He said something about stepping on a rake with this Ukraine thing. What should I tell him? Didn’t you already use that line on the EU?” “Biden is on line three and I have no idea in hell what he just said. Call Jill, got it.”

“a culture that goes back tens of thousands of years”

Again, you won’t get any argument from me about the West’s arrogance, but . . .

No extent civilization in the world can claim a heritage that old. Agriculture itself is no older than 10,000 years, settlement not much older than that. Before that, all humans were living as hunter gatherers, who left behind precious little in the historical record. No one can claim to know much about the culture of such people, much less plausibly claim it as their heritage.

“birthplace of all Western languages”

Nonsense. One does not need to make silly claims like this to respect and even admire India’s civilization.

That “theory” has been debunked long ago. Indo-european (or Indo-Iranian, if you prefer) languages appear in India centuries after they are attested to in places like Anatolia (i.e., Hittite). The linguistic evidence for the origination of Indo-european being somewhere north of the Black Sea is elegant and, I believe, overwhelming.

Right. The current view separates the IE languages into Centum and Satem families.

Yes, but with the likely exception of Hittite, which appears to have emerged before the Centum/Satem split—that is, long before the IE migration eastward into India, during which “satemization” took place.
