No extent civilization in the world can claim a heritage that old. Agriculture itself is no older than 10,000 years, settlement not much older than that. Before that, all humans were living as hunter gatherers, who left behind precious little in the historical record. No one can claim to know much about the culture of such people, much less plausibly claim it as their heritage.

The linguistic evidence for the origination of Indo-european being somewhere north of the Black Sea is elegant and, I believe, overwhelming.
