Self explanatory, but Mearsheimer is a guy who has a decades long experience of being the target of smear campaigns and attempts to marginalize and silence him:
As a father with 2 Jewish daughter-in-laws (I am Catholic) I rarely comment on these type of blog posts relative to the Gaza/Hamas/Israel conflict. I can say that "rampant" is probably a wrong word choice. However within my own extended family experiences I can say that antisemitism is active within the environments we (again as an extended family) all function in on a day-to-day basis.
We live in the near north suburbs of Chicago near Jewish populations centered in Northbrook, Highland Park, and Skokie. This is (I believe) 2nd largest Jewish population grouping in the US.
That being said, I find it interesting Mearsheimer suggests in 43 years rarely experienced anti-Semitic comments. As a a U of Chicago person (near South side) perhaps he hasn't ventured out much. Perhaps he doesn't really associated with Jewish friends? Perhaps he is unaware of his surroundings and isn't connecting the dots? Perhaps those with anti-Semitic views avoid him. Perhaps a bit obtuse?
I've respected Mearsheimer in the past for his views but now grow tired of them. I disagree with his statement that the are not engaging anti-Semitism but rather genocide. Their is no basis for his statement on this. If so, where's the survey's or facts to make this statement. I'm confident those that protest don't differentiate between genocide and hatred of Israel. In other words they're not mutually exclusive. I do appreciate Mark offering a multitude of perspectives on said subject.
As I've said earlier, I'm going to give these Cabinet nominees the respect and opportunity they deserve. Heck, who knows perhaps Bondi has learned a thing or two along the way too.
The clear trend in the United States and the UK is toward forcing people to shut up unless they are demonstrating 100% committment to state narratives, even when they are dubious at best and as is currently prevalent, wholly wrong. To be compelled to support mass murder in Gaza and forced to remain silent at pain of prosecution is abhorrent. Anyone denying the abhorrent nature of this policy is prostituting their integrity and rsking all our freedoms to speak as independent humans without fear. This is an alienable right, the most precious right we have. If we lose this right we become virtual slaves to whatever dictators are in power. We can no longer be said to be free. If this is not obvious to some people we truly indeed in very deep trouble.
I think you mean INalienable. In theory, at least, it’s inalienable. But as recent trends reveal, such a right is, in practice, clearly alienable. What Holy Mother the State gives, she can take away.
You may not care, but your free speech is not threatened and is being protected by tribal money, ours is threatened by the most vicious of your tribe. You know who your oppressors by those you cannot criticize.
Let's give her a chance. Just like Trump learned the Deep State is a sewer, I think she learned.
If not, I'm sure Trump will have no problem firing her.

Anyways, to all a Happy Thanksgiving!

My view is that Mearsheimer is neither obtuse nor dishonest.
The clear trend in the United States and the UK is toward forcing people to shut up unless they are demonstrating 100% committment to state narratives, even when they are dubious at best and as is currently prevalent, wholly wrong. And nobody should understand this better than Donald Trump, whose free speech rights the Regime has tried mightily to suppress.
Nobody's starving in Gaza. So now we know you're not as intelligent as you 5hink you are. Educated? Yes
Surprised you haven’t been banished yet with that comment.
I thought it would be useful for readers to see the face of evil.
And I wouldn't care.

He's right.
Also her handling of the Trayvon Martin case, where she helped her friend, race pimp extraextraordinaire Benjamin Crump, should disqualify her.
Others here on Substack have attacked her because she has spoken at Scientology events. I think that's a nothing burger.
Scientology vs Israel/Jews......
Agreed
