Trump's rhetoric on tariffs, Ukraine, Greenland, Canada, Panama etc. is intended to capture the news cycle and divert attention away from his tangible actions. He wants the MSM talking heads focused on sensational nonsense instead of the shiv in his left hand. This is masterful misdirection and actually tells us that he is well and truly pissed off and means business. As to the Big Picture, when the Ukraine gambit goes bust, all the EU economies go belly up when their sovereign bonds expire and no one buys the reissue. My guess is that they will try a major false flag black swan type catastrophe in the hopes of forcing a NATO war with Russia. Only a major war can hide the financial debacle that is about to be unleashed. But what if Putin doesn't take the bait? If Russia stays on the sidelines, its only a matter of time until civil unrest in the EU explodes. Then the war becomes NATO fighting its own citizens. Tit for tat vis-a-vis what they did in Ukraine. Yes, these idiots really are that stupid.
And, add to that, what if Trump doesn't take it, either?
Why should he?
Also, I agree that "Trump's rhetoric on tariffs, Ukraine, Greenland, Canada, Panama" is diversionary, but I don't think its nonsense. As Alexander Dugin explains in Cosmo's post immediately below, Trump's nationalism may be coalescing around a renewed Monroe Doctrine, which would lend some intentionality to Trump's rhetoric.
To Mark and the group, I came across this post by Alexander Dugin and found it interesting although there are areas where I find he has missed the mark but his attempt at identifying what Trumps election means he uses Trumpism to identify an ideology more than a populist revolt against elitism and globalism. He fuses ideas from Samuel Huntington with Trumpism which is the opposite of the end of History theory of Fukyama and the globalism of Soros. Hits and misses but great food for thought as we try to figure out who he is and what he means for us and the world.
According to the New York Times, President Trump has removed the security detail from Mike Pompeo and Brian Hook, in addition to previous removals for John Bolton.
Mark you put together such great articles. Thank you. Hopefully this will be a helpful input. the link in the opening of this article "Trump deletes DEI infrastructure...." returns you to MIH and doesn't link to the article. It took me several searches and sleuthing to find the right article. Here is a link that should work. https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/disciplined-thursday-january-23-2025 It is a very good analysis of the well thought out methods being used to systematically clear the bureaucracy. I watched Trump's OMB Director Nominee Russell Vought's hearing earlier this week and was incredibly impressed with his calm demeanor and razor sharp replies. I never realized how important OMB was to controlling executive branch operations.
Well, I'm a glass half empty kind of person, but this all seems pretty good so far. I can tell it's good because all the lefties I work with are seriously triggered. The tectonic plates are shifting. Exciting times!
Hope you are well! I'd like to have you believe that I've been in a huddle with Donald and Elon these months, giving them my wisdom and insights on how to get America back on course. However, as ever, the truth is more mundane. A combination of massive workload and a mental health break from the news has turned me into a passive observer. I still read Mark's wonderful blog and all your great comments, so I'm still in circulation. All the best to you for 2025!
Good to hear from you again Steg! Ursula never disappoints in her hollow and nonsensical remarks! Bring down the cost of energy? Wait til she hears of Trump’s next move, which is to remove 20,000 US troops stationed across Europe. Oops!, as Mark would say. Ya can’t fight the Ruskies AND have cheap energy, Ursula! So what’s it gonna be? Either way, the lights are going out here…

This is very good and informative.
Dugin's piece is, as you suggest, very thought-provoking. Thanks for sharing.
P.S. I can kinda see why the Ukrainians might well have wanted to kill him.
Interesting piece, thanks.

This is a 100% treat to watch... https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/01/watch-canadian-conservative-leader-pierre-poilievre-humiliate-woke/

Thanks. I had a problem with that and thought that I had got it right. The links on that page were hard to deal with for some reason.

Here’s one that i haven’t seen much about except on Slay.

The best part is he’s been reassigned to the group dealing with sanctuary cities. 😆
Reminds me of the scene in Walking Tall with the corrupt judge getting new office accommodations.

read my post above, Steg and go to the link. I'd be interested in your take and Mark's.
Where in the heck have you been?
Hi Cardie,

See Steg, I told you have been missed.
Well that's good to hear. I was beginning to wonder if you were "Shadow" banned...

Wasn't she "sick" with the flu or something, for two weeks? Maybe she had her brain implant removed.😊
