Great news about your wife, Mark! I hope the driving goes well. P.s, I hear there's a second-hand Corvette on the market if she's interested. The car's in great shape, but there are a few problems with the documentation, apparently.

It might be unnerving to other people to see someone getting out of a car and using a cane. But it's a question of starting to do things as normally as possible, including weaning away from the cane as much as possible.

No surprise, really. She's been working at it conscientiously. Thanks.

some of the issues seem to arise because of repeated boosters - something that was NOT on the table when Trump rushed approval. Trump could try to distinguish between the original vaccine and the regime of multiple boosters.

He could also address representations about the safety testing that may have been made. There are a number of ways he could approach this issue and get on the side of science, common sense, and common decency.

Trump had a hard choice handed to him, on purpose. A Hobson's choice. They wanted to destroy him once and for all regardless of his decision. If he didn't fast track the "vaccines" millions might die, and he would lose the Presidency, and live in ignominy forever. Or he could approve them and eventually face the consequences of them being neither safe nor effective.

It appears he has chosen to stick with his original rationale for the choice he made. In other words he is offloading responsibility to those who advised him in the first place. That is not an unreasonable approach. The other option is to admit he was fooled and that suggests the possibility he might be fooled again. Not a negative you want in the public consciousness when you are running for President. And yes, he does have an ego and a public image of which he is very conscious.

We shall see how this all plays out - but I am sympathetic to the position he is now in. It is not flattering. But then we all knew he wasn't perfect. It all comes down to a cost benefit analysis on our part.

The problem is that he needs to retain the support of his base. They don't really care about whether he was pushed into accepting the jabs or not. What they care about is what he thinks now. For them, the vaccines and all the attendant horrors are a critical issue, bearing as they do on how we define personal freedoms and limits on government. If Trump doesn't apologise, his base, already having doubts about him, will drift away.

And you can be sure that the people behind mRNA injections and the attendant Covid regime are not going to just fold their tent up and go away. These are ALL issues for the future that can't be pooh-poohed.

Thanks very much, Mark, for the Sachs clip. I have seen a few others of his over the last couple years. He is generally considered to the left of center and is certainly well connected in the establishment. That said, he is first and foremost a diplomat, and in association with that a realist. He validates most all of what you have been saying re: Ukraine and Russia on your blogs.

Sachs knows all the players. He certainly also understands that personnel equals policy. Therefore, I wonder what he thinks of the potential ouster of Biden. Would that mean the Neocons Nuland and Blinken would be out the door, too? I am sure he would welcome that. But Kamala comes from the same clan as Pelosi (also a Neocon, even if once removed). Hmmm.... would be nice to know how the forces working to remove Biden regard the Ukraine and Russia.

Glad you mentioned Pelosi. I can't believe that this drunken psychopath will go quietly into her dotage without trying to cling on to some kind of inside influence. Maybe Kamala would offer her that.

I’m not sure why people are worried about Kamala, Biden imo doesn’t have any advantage in brain power, he just has better handlers. Would she be too difficult to get with the program and try to do things on her own?

Biden's better looking.

Mark, great news on your wifes' progress! I think you said she's experienced with knee stuff but I trust she's already appreciating it's help. Thanks for that update... now back to the post. :^)

The beauty of Trump is that he did not put the Country on a Civil War basis. No way he was going to throw the baby out with the bath water. You don't destroy the Country to preserve it. His opposition is either being paid good money to destroy the Country, or they think they are geniuses who are constructing a much better Brave New World. They won't let a little thing like the law or the Constitution get in the way. Anybody remember the posters where Trump said they are after you, and I am just in the way. He is no longer in the way. And no, he is not going to second guess the decisions made with whatever information that was available to appeal to the public now and get elected. He doesn't need the job.

I’m 65, 66 this weekend thank you. My siblings all ran to the vaxx, only one reluctantly because of coercion from her school employer. With her exception, the others have run out and got every booster offered and continue to limit”exposure” to us. So much for the remnants of the free thinking, don’t trust anyone over 30, hippie movement.

Concerning Trump, I think Occam's Razor works here: his ego can't allow him to admit he was wrong.

I heartily agree with your theory that the Dobbs draft was leaked by a liberal justice. My money's on Sotomayor. The other liberals don't seem likely to flout the rules and traditions of the Court - they respect the institution, but the UNwise Latina strikes me as an impulsive loose cannon. No respecter of institutions, she, when there's a leftish sacred cow on the altar.

I posit that she was so appalled by Dobbs that she couldn't wait until the decision was published at the end of June 2022 to spread the outrage she felt. She may have used one of her clerks to perform the actual leaking, but either way, it was her brainchild to release the hounds of hell.

Not so sure. It's two way traffic. Admitting he made a massive error would cast doubt on his judgment. On the other hand, it would reassure many doubters like me that he is - finally - learning from his mistakes.
