Trump had a hard choice handed to him, on purpose. A Hobson's choice. They wanted to destroy him once and for all regardless of his decision. If he didn't fast track the "vaccines" millions might die, and he would lose the Presidency, and live in ignominy forever. Or he could approve them and eventually face the consequences of them being neither safe nor effective.

It appears he has chosen to stick with his original rationale for the choice he made. In other words he is offloading responsibility to those who advised him in the first place. That is not an unreasonable approach. The other option is to admit he was fooled and that suggests the possibility he might be fooled again. Not a negative you want in the public consciousness when you are running for President. And yes, he does have an ego and a public image of which he is very conscious.

We shall see how this all plays out - but I am sympathetic to the position he is now in. It is not flattering. But then we all knew he wasn't perfect. It all comes down to a cost benefit analysis on our part.

some of the issues seem to arise because of repeated boosters - something that was NOT on the table when Trump rushed approval. Trump could try to distinguish between the original vaccine and the regime of multiple boosters.
