Seems to me (and what do I know), that the fundamental premise of all this war-mongering is financial recapitalization to prop up failing economic/financial/business models on behalf of a relatively few people. Maybe it goes further, as Quigley said, into the realms of world control.

Whatever.

Young men in the west, and their wiser parents, must understand this dynamic and refuse to even start thinking about allowing themselves to be stampeded into 1) hatred (of e.g. Russians!) and 2) war. Or go along with it and be pitied as a dumbass.

The hits just keep coming. Israel strikes head-chopper regime that it (with US/Turkish help) installed to overthrow Assad, with such attach under pretense of protecting the Druze (who, by most accounts, were doing just fine before the overthrow).

And didn't Trump just unsanction the headchoppers? We're totally in bed with them.

Why do you say in bed with them Mark they were created by the US spooks and are used by the state department etc for foreign policy. They are the DoD battalion of foreign legionaries ready for the call.

There are several important dates coming up in which Treasury bonds must be rolled over at current demand rates. If these sales require an interest rate of 5% or more on 10y bonds, then a death spiral may become unavoidable. The Fed cannot backstop $ trillions without sending inflation through the roof, and all of this is made worse by the recently passed BBB which increased the debt ceiling by another $5 trillion. The only thing that can keep average citizens from noticing a debt crisis is the start of a world war. Then the big question becomes . . . will young men signed up to fight a foreign enemy overseas or choose instead to fight the domestic enemy right here in DC?

Trump/Rubio just gutted the Russia and Ukraine desks at the State Department. Do you think they accidentally cut the knees out from under the very same analysts who would be tasked with justifying any Russia escalations, monitoring compliance, or building a case for further sanctions? You might recall how the Ukraine impeachment went down.

Trump's hard line on Russia is just talk. The deep state isn’t being ordered to enforce Trump’s policy— it’s being dismantled so it can’t resist. You can’t resist very much while you’re uploading your resume to Indeed. Trump has signaled to Russia we're deescalating.

Yes. Funny how WWIII keeps not starting. And the pundits remain totally confused. Fortunately, Putin can't possibly be.

The reason Trump's talk of further sanctions on Russia are hyperbolic - there's nothing left to sanction. Secondary sanctions on European or other sovereign gas purchases? Don't make me laugh.

Mike Pompous. Russia could take out all our satellites in a matter of mins. Tsunami torpedos in place, with remote detonation. Never underestimate the adversary. Never overestimate your own capability. How did he even graduate from West Point?

G'day Doug, have you ever seen the Kremlin make a decisive action that would be transformative in this not a war?

The Kremlin wants to recommence business with the West so all is gently gently and only in measured reaction to the ratcheting up of attacks in the Russian mainland.

Obviously an outrageous attack on Moscow or Peter's will get a tremendous response but anything less Lavrov will be unleashed and you better watch out or Ryabkov will fire up and all will tremble.
