The U.S. - Russian - Ukrainian situation is extremely distressing (in addition to Israel/Gaza and Iran). Trump for whatever reasons (and Mark has identified the potentialities well) is pouring gasoline on the fire in every respect and in every situation. Whatever happened to the idea of even-handed diplomacy and a true desire for peace, rationally supported? It is nowhere to be found. Instead we have threats and pre-ordained presumptions about our "enemies" justifying impending conditions for war.

Yes, Medvedev is the Bolton of Russia but SOMEONE needs to knock some sense into the West and say "back up." Witkoff and Li'l Marco are quickly becoming the Boltons of Trump II. With Witkoff, Trump's consigliore, things change almost every day. He seem happy to have the potential of an agreement with Iran or Russia for a day or two. Then he totally changes his course and his rhetoric. L'il Marco backs up his new bellicose positions. Israel/AIPAC maybe? So just what does Trump want now and what is he working for? Unending war all over? That WILL destroy his domestic agenda (which his enemies will welcome). Who are the voices of moderation in his admin now, if any? Even Tulsi is threatening Iran. And like Iran says, "who are we supposed to believe?" while considering the overall ineptitude.

Despite all this, in the spirit of "argumentum ad ignorantiam," and the U.S. tradition of optimism, and the apparent urgent need for hopium, I present the following:

I have great respect for Alex K. as a thinker and a geopolitical and economic analyst. I am not saying I agree with him. But here you go... and I do plead guilty to being a natural optimist - but not an oblivious one.

I said some weeks ago that the Trump presidency was imploding, and I continue to stand by that. It’s obvious Trump is not going to do anything meaningful to stop the genocide in Gaza or to cut off the aid and supplies to Ukraine to force them to the peace table..

Then we have the United States Senate, who says that they are going to ask to impose even more asinine strict sanctions on Russia, which will accomplish absolutely nothing.

The Russians have endured sanctions after sanction for the last 80 years. Do you think they’re going to be intimidated by even more? Trump and the rest of the West don’t seem to understand that Putin has pivoted East because that’s where the future is not the West.

How many times do we have to go back to the end of the Cold War where we had the opportunity to make Russia a friend and Ally? What did we do? We continued to look at them as our Cold War enemy. Putin has offered on several occasions to make peace with the west even to join NATO at one point almost 20 years ago and what did we do we were rejected him.

The Russians are not going to respond to anything until they see some type of level of trust that they can buy into from Trump and I don’t see that happening right now .

Trump may have said us back to the point we may have to start all over with what I like to call baby steps diplomacy , we give a little they give a little and then we have to build up all of this level of trust that we could have again to actually negotiate a deal.

I laughed with amusement when I read part of the speech he gave at West Point as to hypersonic missile technology . The Russians have been working on hypersonic missile technology for at least the last 25 years. They have now perfected kinetic energy bombs, which they have been working on for the last 45 years while we have done none of these things we don’t have hypersonic missile technology that works we don’t have a kinetic energy bomb. We have let China, Russia, and Iran eclipse us with their technology.

Trump just doesn’t seem to understand that our military is not what it wants was. We cannot put an army on the ground . Our armaments are not what they once were at our enemies. I have invested well. The military industrial complex has now failed. They make contracts now where they can make money on failed prototypes, and parts replacement more than anything else.

My prediction is Russia is going to attack until they force Ukraine to capitulate and once that happens, they will determine the deal and Trump, the Neocons, and the Zionists we have failed.

The backlash of what is happening in Gonza right now will taint Trump and his presidency forever. he literally squandered all of his goodwill, his political capital and his chance to be a true hero for peace. History will not treat him kindly.

Anglo-Zionists desperately trying to maintain global hegemony, channeling King Canute. Or maybe the little Dutch boy with his thumb in the dike, with other leaks popping up all over.

That's just one of many initiatives.

“What this exposes is that Trump remains a creature of the global Deep State, the Anglo-Zionist empire. Trump could end the war any time he wants, despite his usual deceptive rhetoric about not having any responsibility for the war. In reality, Trump is attempting to obtain through blather what the Anglo-Zionists have failed to obtain through war and sanctions—and that ploy is failing miserably:” A stunning disappointment, but there it is. And Trump’s dithering and bombast risks provoking the Merz/Macron someones to doing something uber-crazy.

They are quite useful in the arena of war, we've been told.

You could even make your own hypersonic missile, using washing machine parts.
