regarding: " with regard to the Gaza genocide--I mean, can this really continue to go on and on and on and not do enormous damage to America's reputation and its relations with countries around the world?"

Problem Solved:

Genocide is merely an "overused word."

Genocide in Gaza "manufactured by media. -- studies show ..."

Mersheimer on China

I just listed to Judge Nap and Mersheimer on China - Mersheimer is wrong and it's pretty simple why

US Could Never - Attrition - Win against China in Taiwan - Never

A. China would likely wait to an appropriate timing - eg: US Israel attacks Iran - US even more overextended - Perfect for China - its an open door Taiwan for the taking

You can bet your backside US is panicked about this - One of the many reasons US cannot attack Iran and if they do, US will suffer tremendously - they may ' win ' but I think it doubtful and the consequences will be too severe

B. China and US could ' go at it ' and even if China lost 30 % of their ships or 50 % of their ships and military China can rebuild and quickly ---

If US lost 25 % of their ships - it's over - and you saw YEMEN US Can NOT rebuild they have no manufacturing no ship building US Would LOSE International Power and ability to patrol the seas --- IF US sent in 3 aircraft carriers to China YEMEN shows us US could lose 3 aircraft carriers - and No Ability To Rebuild -

Taiwan is China's for the taking - China just waiting till the fruit is ripe.

It is only the U.S. that wants a change in the status quo regarding China and Taiwan (or at least to threaten it). The Taiwanese public is content with maintaining it. Their economic well being lies much more with the mainland Chinese than with the Americans. The last thing they want is to be the Ukrainians of the Far East in a U.S. proxy in a war against China.

US is clinging to a last vestige of supremacy

It is strange they desire this - much more intelligent if they threw their might and diplomacy behind the United Nations NOW before it's too late

We risk being treated on the way down, the way we treated others on the way up

Almost invariably when something doesn't make sense in war and peace it is because money and power are involved and vested interests are in play. In this case, it is no secret that the MIC has been playing up the China threat for their own interests.

LJ agreeing with DD:

https://sonar21.com/what-did-lavrov-and-putin-tell-rubio-and-trump/

Putin’s body language and tone of voice indicated controlled fury. I suspect he adopted the same posture with President Trump during their conversation. Trump left the chat with no doubt about Putin’s intention… he is going to respond in the strongest terms to the attack on the airfields.

Following that conversation, the US Embassy in Kyiv issued a Security Alert advising US citizens in Ukraine to exercise heightened caution due to an increase in Russian missile and drone attacks across the country. US citizens were urged to be prepared to shelter immediately in case of air raids or other attacks.

Message sent: message delivered. What is remarkable about Putin’s stance on the attacks last weekend is that this marks the first time he is openly accusing Ukraine, and “its supporters,” of terrorism. Quite a contrast to Putin’s previous responses to the terrorist attacks

Just listened to doctorow

apparently Putin was choosing his words with specific meaning

apparently this may change at least in important part from an SMO to a Counter Terrorism Operation

A Counter Terrorism Operation may indicate direct attacks on orchestrators and government buildings

While I find it doubtful Zelensky would be targeted, as Russia is a ' quite diplomatic ' State and desires to unite the East and that may be frowned upon - I do imagine certain groups and military headquarters are fair targets

Also - a lot of people seem to share the opinion, this is really big, and a really big response is being prepared after additional investigation and determination of culprits

But importantly a big response will be done to send a message to UK and MI6

If I were MI6 in Ukraine I'd be going home quick.

Think back to the Rand report(s) of some time ago like this one from 2019

https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_briefs/RB10000/RB10014/RAND_RB10014.pdf

It seems that there was some hubris involved as to the depth of the USA's bench for playing this extended game.

How have the tables turned re who is actually being "extended" - weakened by depletion of potential. Look at the USA now, posturing against China, Iran, probably North Korea were they to stick up there head, potentially Syria and Lebanon if they start standing up to the Zionists (This in addition to the commitments of military aid and intelligence inUkraine and Israel). I heard Mcgregor say that the US Army is down to 400k, we are low on ammo and (my speculation) way over-reliant on aircraft carrier battle groups.

Not even going to talk about the US Dollar re reserve currency status with the new China-led cross-border payment systems coming into play.

I think that Russia, especially since last week, will be all too happy to encourage its allies and trading partners to help extend the USA.

We need to be looking inward, getting our fiscal house in order and rebuilding our manufacturing capability.

This is the time for mature adults to step forward.

If Trump blows this, we'll get Democrats back and all the transgender lunacy. It's a vicious cycle, Dem/Rep/Dem/Rep, etc.

I don't like what I'm about to say..... I am coming to a realization as to why the Jews wear out their welcome.

Does anyone care about Americans? It's all about power, money and control.

Trump plunged his hands into the tar baby of Iran, Ukraine, Gaza, and China. He is stuck and can’t easily extract himself from the mess. This forum was hopeful that Trump would end the overseas entanglements or they would threaten his domestic agenda. The Trump administration is swirling down the toilet. No one takes his pronouncements seriously any more.

His latest problem with the BBB is one of his own making and Musk trashing it presents Trump with a dilemma. Does he ridicule Musk like he did Massie and Paul?

His administration has no credibility except with the hard core MAGA types.

I liked the idea of MAGA, but I didn't necessarily describe myself as such. To me it was intuitively obvious that our (Trump's) agenda should be a return to our principals and the values crap be damned and return to what made us great in the first place. Values are meaningless if your principals are sketchy. This is why we hear the values stuff all the time from media, politicians, even some religious leaders, but it's a cover for a lack of principals..

Ready to dump Trump, no what do you turn to in his place? This is the horse we must ride it, but it'd be nice if there were some reigns to control the direction of our horse. The debt on top of debt and the debt bomb lurking. Yeah, debt's the problem and more spending is not the solution.

Boomer here.

Nothing about WWII was taught in our schools -- it was too soon; education for our cohort was difficult in itself -- not enough classrooms, not enough teachers, books out of date.

"Scholars" of holocaust teach/write that it did not become a Proper Noun until after Eichmann trial, or after Spielberg's holocaust movies. By that time, "senior citizens" were out of high school (although: both Mearsheimer & L Johnson concede that "the movie Exodus made a tremendous impression.")

BUT younger generation are submerged in holocaustianity. Jimmy Carter enabled USHolocaust museum in 1978; Boomers had careers, mortgage payments, children to worry about by then.

But younger people in public schools were ritually marched through such museums and bombarded with Seth Klarmer's "Facing Our History"; mandatory holocaust teachings; ADL creating a storm should any school or teacher deviate from the dogma, even in public schools.

So I don't understand the argument that it's "senior citizens" who are "living in the past" and MAGA tards.

Boomers here, boomer there, boomers everywhere, but declining as our time is closing. I am a boomer too, Tristam. Sorry if you were offended.

I know there's a lot of shade thrown towards boomers these days, especially by the 'everyone gets a trophy crowd.' That's why I didn't use that term, I said Senior citizens which accompanies the last vestige of what they called the greatest generation (or those born during the war and still alive today), because we fought in the war Russia won. That is not to diminish our role, but at times in reflection you can't keep building on a myth while ignoring the truth.

You are making my point with your illustrations of what goes on in our schools, our entertainment, media, books and I agree, this is why I said propaganda. I read several of Leon Uris's books like "Exodus," (never saw the movie I read the damn book!) "Mila 18," "Topaz," when I was in junior high and high school. I was influenced. Who wasn't moved by these stories at the time?

It wasn't just our younger generation submerged in holycuastianity, we all have been. I never refer to Magatards, it's vulgar and a democrat epithet which is their stock in trade. Living in the past suggests those who fondly remeber our strength and greatness which is diminished and the halo tarnished.

Thanks for expressing your opinion, I value it here on this forum.
