Today’s a busy day for me, so I’ll need to keep this a bit sketchy—links rather than extended commentary. First off, while we don’t know the details, WGN (Chicago) has reported that Robert E. Crimo III (the shooter) was “known to law enforcement.” At this point I’m not aware of further details:
So what was going on in the Crimo family in 2019 - the year in which Bobby got his FOID after going on rampage?

Take all father figures out of a young mans life, ban or obfuscate the words of Christ, allow him to play violent video games year after year, slowly isolate him from reality, feed a steady diet of extreme ideological web content littered with dehumanizing language, load him up with both "legal" prescriptions and allow highly potent "legalized" THC...and the world is shocked when they do this.
I'm still pissed from yesterday. We had waited 3 years for our local parade (nearby community), had family and friends coming over and was looking for a renewal of times gone past. Then the news hit. An hour later our Mayor cancelled the parade, fireworks, etc... other local communities did too. Soon I realized it was because our local law enforcement officers were needed in nearby Highland Park. I was pissed. I was pissed at this kid, I was pissed at the day destroyed before me.
Then I realized I was being self-centered and selfish. We mourn for those lost, their families, and the injured. I won't let these punks take away our and my peace of mind.
To discourage these incidents the consequences must be made as disagreeable as possible. Now that the Democrats have created our Washington gulag for political prisoners, why not have this guy be put there and disappear from public view, no trial, no habeas corpus, just lock him up in solitary in a vermin-infested cell with bad food, no medicine, legal counsel or possibility of communicating with the outside world.
His parents have been said to be disinterested in him. Would fail to pick him up after after-school sports so frequently that the coach still remembers it. His uncle, who lived with him and his father, admits that he associated with him but did not like to engage with him. Did anyone make him feel as though he had any value at all?
If a person can die of neglect, failure to thrive, perhaps a neglected person can also become a solitary, lonely, quiet person who lives only in their own brain and on the internet and go on to take out their pain and anger on innocent others…
In those persons whose schizophrenia onset occurs before age 18, it is called childhood schizophrenia. His father said that Robert had been an inpatient at a mental facility when he was 16. No mention of diagnosis. Since then he had been on meds to control his condition. Recently quit those meds.

He has been pointing out that a lot of these shooters have been prone to heavy marijuana/THC usage, which leads to paranoia and schizophrenic thinking. The list includes most of the very latest shooters, including Buffalo, Highland Park, etc.
The marijuana/THC these kids are using nowadays is multiple times more powerful than what was common in the '60s and '70s and '80s. It is changing their brain chemistry.
Perhaps parents are to blame in some of these instances, perhaps not. My memory is still pretty vivid a decade+ later of my stepson's struggles in public school. They dx'd him ADD & anytime his behavior wasn't exactly to the school's liking, the cry arose to raise his med dose! Poor boy cd hardly keep his eyes open, much less function. We got him in a private self-paced Christian academy for high school. He thrived & graduated 2 yrs ahead of his public school class, w/out meds.
Things have escalated since. A neighbor somehow wound up in federal court for refusing to put his active young son on ADD meds. They threatened to take the boy away or force the parents to drug him. Parents won, but the boy is being home schooled.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that the FBI let it happen intentionally. They got the 4th of July narrative they wanted.

No “reportedly”. He ran and lost. Had to have been in major self-protect mode during his campaign. This sad story continues to peel like an onion.

What a coincidence that Leftist Mass Shootings always get memory holed. Las Vegas was another one that has a lot of open threads.
