I watched a webinar earlier today in which an election expert (lawyer?) said that the DNC rules allow them to hold a virtual roll call vote, including legally binding commitments, to nominate Harris before the actual convention. The call would take place in early August, and Harris, if the nominee, could use the money immediately. As for legal challenges, he said that the challenges would be turned down by the judicial system. He (smugly) said that they have thought all of this through, and it will be a done deal. The superdelegates would not vote, because Harris would win in the first round.

BTW, this was an investor webinar that (I thought) would be neutral, but came across as a partisan gloating spree.

Obviously a Dem election lawyer would say that the courts won't get involved. However, there are tens of millions of dollars involved and the rights of the donors. It only takes one to challenge the whole thing, and we know that not all may be on board. Wait and see. From the GOP perspective, the good thing is that this is months out--not after the fact.

Laws are not for Democrats. We all know that.

The Democrats don’t care about that money. They’ll replace it from somewhere else if needed. It’s only a lousy $90 million. Chump change.

Thinking about things this morning we have about 16 weeks until the election and that is a long time in Politics. I believe one of the main motivations of Trump running was to get revenge on Biden for 2020 and now that is gone. I do think, like it or not, Kamala is the nominee. The concern I have is ,is the Trump campaign ready to do a 180 to deal with Harris and will Trump handle this correctly. Also is it possible the Trump Campaign has or will peak too soon to win in November? While Harris is a terrible candidate and as a woman candidate, will Democrats dismiss her gaffe’s and incompetence and still vote for her for historic reasons? It is entirely possible Trump loses but the Republicans will win the downstream races and control the House and the Senate to stop really disastrous legislation from getting through. The next three weeks will be crucial and let’s see how their convention unfolds. Trump needs to concentrate on Harris in her professional career and leave the personal stuff for others to do. She has been an abysmal failure at everything she has been involved in.

Well, Trump has already acknowledged that they would likely have to deal with Kamala as the nominee (prior to Biden's terminating his campaign). I wish I had the specific link but there is no doubt his campaign is well prepared to "pivot."

Be a real shame if these people got all tangled up in some kind of “lawfare” issue wouldn’t it!
