Didn't Trump try to get the US to get out of Syria at one point and was re-buffed?

Hamas is taking a page out of the Russians' playbook: "Actually, it's we, not you, who are going to dictate how this ends." As for the tunnels, the photos show something not unlike the London Underground metro system. How the heck did Mossad, supposedly the best intelligence people on the Planet, miss this? As for Syrian, if the GAE leaves there, they'll be gone from Iraq too.

Neocon @Charles_Lister having a meltdown at the thought of US troops leaving Syria and no longer stealing its oil and wheat. I don't think he has to worry. Trump's subordinates ignored his orders to withdraw from Syria, and Biden shares their commitment to occupation & plunder.

There's a moral here somewhere. They could have left quietly and with some "mission accomplished" dignity under Trump. But no, they had to double down. Now they will leave in the glare of the world's media and in humiliation.

The Brass in our military display the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality as you look at their chests full of ribbons and medals. Most of these guys never set foot on a battlefield and they look like some 19th century aristocratic buffoon in a uniform. All that's missing is the ostrich feathers on a spiked helmet.
