One thing to add. This idea that we will not know the election results for a week or maybe even a month after election day, is nonsense. In the 70s and 80s you would be 90 percent sure the night of the election of who won.
Today in the 3rd world they know election results within a day or two. So what happened to our vaunted technological prowess?? I guess that is another disappointing spoof given to the American citizenship. Because if our glorious leaders were right about how "advanced " we are, then we should, AT THE LEAST, be on par with our ability to count election results as well as we did 30-40 years ago.
And if we cannot , then the people (dems and Reps) who legislated changes and put structural change into effect of these election ballot counting systems failed miserably.

Sorry mistcr for the delayed response- I'm just catching up. Actually, Luongo and Krainer were responding to Peter Kuznick, not Garland Nixon. It was Kuznick who was excoriating Trump on the basis of personality. Nixon talked more about the views of blacks toward the election.
On election night 2020 I went to bed thinking Trump had won. Then I woke up to all of the early morning vote drops for Biden. What does all this late breaking data tell me? Nothing much yet. I’ve had my hopes dashed too many times, most recently by the 2022 red wave that wasn’t even a ripple.
I live in blue blue urban Los Angeles County. Before the 2020 election I saw in my immediate neighborhood about 5-6 Biden signs and one Trump. This year, I’ve seen two Trump signs and zero for The Cackler. Make of that what you will.
The white educated lib women were the first in my neighborhood to replace their Ukraine flags with Cackler signs. One chick even put up an American Flag out of the blue, I guess to neutralize the stench of the two Cackler signs. Didn't work - once the mask is proudly displayed, there is no going back. No eye contact. Equal amount of Trump signs. Phoenix.
On this side of the River (McLean/Great Falls/FC), Harris/Walz signs are about one-fifth of levels for Ds in the generals and midterms since 2016. Shy Trump move is to place a Torres (CD-8) or Cao (US Senate) yard sign--both compelling guys in their own rights--immigrant backgrounds, Special Forces, self-made as they come, and not, as the Crits once termed it, MAGA “adjacent.” These signs are a polite way of reminding the TDS freaks that they ARE “the baddies” for coming on your property to destroy stuff. While the Harris vs. Cao-plus-Torres signs are probably 5:3 and my down-ballot guys will get crushed in my CD, I think the Commonwealth is thoroughly in play. My CD and Arlington, Alexandria and Loudoun need to come in at 65/35 (D)--not happening. Thanks to Youngkin’s and AG Miyares’ efforts, you all will get an accurate, early read.
Lived in Chevy Chase, just over the DC line, for many years, back when even a Bush, McCain or Romney sign was considered actionable injury to your neighbors. Can't even imagine what Upper NW and Montgomery County are like now. I'd be willing to bet, however, that there are quite a few yards rockin' the red up toward Clarksburg, Damascus, etc. this go-'round.
