Replacing Biden might work. But with whom? Big Mike might energise the base in a mini-Obama 2.0 way, but she's so nasty and racist that she'd just bring out the normie white vote even more. Hillary? Everyone hates here. Newsome? Buttigieg? That evil witch from Michigan? I can't think of anybody. No, the Dems only "hope" is more voter fraud. And I don't see Americans accepting that a second time.

Reading your last paragraph, thinking of Newsom spitballing Zhou's achievements this term. Gotta think he would be closely associated with Zhou. What you suggest is a complete re-make of the slate of policies across the board by a Democratic candidate that would resemble more moderate thinking and approach. Is RFK a candidate to be brought back into the Dem fold? Can't think of any other potential candidates that would be moderate.

RFK would make sense from an electoral viewpoint, and he is a leftist climate change believer.

Why I don’t think this will happen:

- His two enemies are big pharma and the intel agencies.

- Plus he’s not under Obama’s control / influence.

News like this would cause anyone to seek an unexpected trip to Walter Reed hospital for an "annual physical". LOL. How is this "unexpected"? Probably because Hunter arrived on Capitol hill today.

I remember the Carter years and the “sweater chats” along with the “malaise theory” of what the country’s problem was, but the level of political and governmental corruption that exists now is absolutely nothing like those years! The visceral hatred of DJT by the DS and the brain dead progressive minions, coupled with the endless “legal” chicanery does not bode well for a peaceful transition of power.

No matter what the polling numbers say about Biden’s performance, I just don’t see these people relinquishing the levers of power, I believe they are fully committed to a “nothing is off the table and whatever it takes” strategy to keep their plans alive.

I know that it’s a cliche, but I am fully convinced that this election is for all the marbles.

Re: your last paragraph, that's what I think, too. Then again, neither of us is insane, has been propagandized into fantasy land, is associated with federally funded NGOs, or benefits from a financial interest in the MIC wars. I certainly agree with Gingrich and think that is a winning strategy if you look at the sheer number of "normies" that still remain in this country. The Ivory League (h/t John Kennedy Toole) is by and large for Trump. The Ivy League is of course a different story.

Correct. Carter was a decent but deluded human being who had served in the military and created his own successful business. He and Biden have nothing in common. And you are right about the 1980s/today comparison. The world today is unrecognisable compared to back then. It's like comparing a Mozart symphony with Rap.

Carter was a peanut farmer. No more... no less... Being in full control of faculties relative to a farm is much different than being charge of an entire country.

And a naval nuke engineer. Huge attention to detail and a micromanager. He missed the big picture.

Here's a question: Which career better prepared him--presuming either did--to be POTUS: Peanut farmer or nuke engineer in navy? Arguably peanut farmer.

Maybe being a nuke engineer made him realise what was at stake in terms of nuclear armageddon. Something that fools like Graham and the neocons do not.

I’m with you on peanut farmer. Being a nuclear engineer is a very specific skill set that does not necessarily prepare someone to deal with the wider world and unknown variables. What Jimmy lacked was exposure in either profession to many people with varying views and motivations. It was that lack of knowledge of human nature that did not serve him well. A good human being, but a terrible President.

You make a very good argument that comparing Biden and Carter is an injustice to human decency. I was not a fan of Jimmy. He may have been misguided, but he was no creepy incompetent that is Biden and his family of ghouls. You are right about Gingrich. His days are long in the past and his opinions no longer resonate with the informed among us. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I’m in shock on how much they have destroyed norms to go after Trump, so your scenario is likely.

The blatant call for assassination by that guy a few months back has me worried. Never in modern politics has rhetoric been so openly insane. I genuinely worry.

Precisely. The guardrails are gone and any compunction has been jettisoned. I suspect in the event of a Trump win in November the Democrats and their various subsidiaries will launch an ut and out coup, and call it, with enormous sanctimony, Saving Our Democracy.
