Mark, I just read that Lloyd Austin has been in the hospital for 5 days or more, with no notice to the public. Can this be true? What is going on? Thank you for your updates.
The main lack of readiness is in mentality. As someone said elsewhere, for the Russians and Chinese, war is a process. For them it's a movie, while for us it's a single picture. We work on emotions and wish fulfilment; they work on deeply-thought out strategy.
Tx for publishing these military experts’ opinions and expertise. It seems we’re close to running on empty in terms of brains (planning, supply chains, simple geography) and brawn (diminished industrial capacity…). Very disturbing picture of the generals receiving their medals for “victory” in Afghanistan when we know what an utterly shameful débacle that was. And the contributor says, ‘we haven’t learned anything.’ Thanks again for digging deep Mark!
The best and brightest strike again! Apparently even their plans do not survive contact with the enemy. The question is will we survive our enemies plans? Do we even understand that they have plans?
It might actually be true that the military objectives in Afghanistan were achieved, they were accomplished in mid 2002 . . . IMO. All the other political, social, economic etc. objectives were not ever going to happen, not in 20 years, nor in 20 decades.
Mark, Thanks for posting this. It tracks with what I've been writing at sonar21.com for two years. Is you're not familiar with Andrei Maryanov's book, "LOSING MILITARY SUPREMACY" I suggest you pick it up. Andrei, who has been an AMCIT for 30 years, wrote this six years ago. Nails it.
Mark, send me an email at larrycjohnson@icloud.com. Need to ask you something offline.

If the Gulf becomes blocked by Iran, all those US bases will have to be resupplied via land routes and ports far from the conflict.
Jordan is the obvious candidate which makes the Houthi move all the more interesting.

Thanks, Larry. Yes, very familiar with both your work and Andrei's. Read the book. Eye opening.
Well, I have added you to my must read list. Thanks for the good work.
Your welcome. My reading day started at sonar21 from its outset.
