Don't confuse fear for "respect".

Tragedy- a series of terrible and sorrowful events which are experienced by, and often caused by, a noble figure whose flaws bring about his own downfall and the downfall of others, including the innocent.

However, tragedy occurs nonetheless when ignoble actors produce the same terribile and sorrowful events and the same outcome...

Tragedy has its roots in the ritualistic slaughter of a male goat, pain that arouses pleasure in the audience. Politically speaking, tragedy would be building false hopes in other nations while their patriotic young men die heroic yet futile deaths.

Tragedy is having Bluto Barr think it’s ok to betray his oath of office. Tragedy is having a VP who’s to fricken stupid to know that Ukraine is not a member of NATO. Tragedy is having a senile buffoon for President who actually believes that he won the election and yet doesn’t realize that he is the laughing stock of the entire world. But I suppose the greatest tragedy of all is the fact that there appears to be nothing we can do to correct this ever burgeoning disaster.

I don't buy "nothing." Anyone still breathing w/a semblance of brain function has the option at every breath to do "something."

We can't eat the whole ginormous elephant in one bite, so the first "something" is to dispense w/the "all or nothing" mentality in that regard. A next move is to figure out "what is a manageable bite for me?"

I'm just a hillbilly of modest income who rearranges (merchandises) groceries on the shelves of independent grocers in my Appalachian region. It is easy to feel powerless. I am not satisfied w/that because I am also blessed to be creative & bright. I will not waste my God-given blessings!

Some of the "something" bites I have taken in 2022 are:

1) finally tracking down my county Republican unit after a decade of failed efforts, attending a meeting & joining. Granted, I tend to believe my state's Republican party is corrupt as it can be right down to individual units, but it's what we got, for now

2) taking a break from all the bad & disheartening news to define my ideals for governance - do our Charters of Freedom adequately address them or shd we be making some tweaks in hindsight? Most obvious need for change (inadequate descriptor) that I'm seeing are in the realm of career politicians, judges & government employment. Another cd not have been foreseen by our Founders - we need something along the line of an internet bill of rights (AI issues, privacy)

3) smiling at & verbally interacting w/every child I encounter in public. I have always done this because it makes me happy, but research shows that our little ones have lost up to 20 IQ points due to panicdemic lock downs & masking. Socialization is terribly important to cognitive development. I am doing "something" to make a positive difference for our babies.

I hope that helps to inspire. You're all here reading a blog. That means you can do "something!" Don't dismiss what you can do because it isn't the solution beyond your control that you have fixed in your mind. It's easy to do that. I do it, we all do it. You all have your own gifts. Use them to stand up to our challenges, one manageable bite at a time.

Beyond the idiocy, I am struck by her shamelessness and lack of self-awareness. Zhou’s dementia prevents him from realizing he’s a laughing stock. What’s her excuse?

Ever ponder the momentum mustered by esteemed 'leaders' behaving like clueless idiots? Idiocy that even the most lowly working stiff would think twice abt & be embarrassed to openly display?

Ever wonder if this might result in an ultimate solution that legal decisions from appointed judges wd not?

I do.
