Starmer. Should be the butt of jokes

Glad someone's picked up on the Keith joke. The founding leader of the Labour Party was Keir Hardie, a true socialist, dedicated to improving the workers' lot in this country which is really the establishment: City, Royals, elites, BBC - plus the rest of us. Starmer's loyalties are to the establishment and globalism, which may be the same thing. Keith's a proven and shameless liar, a perfect puppet, but a dangerous warmonger. He's turning out far worse than expected. Meanwhile life in the UK gets tougher every day. We in Scotland nearly escaped the "Union" but that was never going to happen with our "blob" against us. I hope the USA denies Europe the tax dollars "we've" gobbled up for decades and forces us to do our sums and pull back from destroying everything. Jeffrey Sachs spelled it out in the EU parliament last week.

There is free speech and then their is "kinda free speech or free speech with a "twist". and of course free speech paper or plastic strawish.

Still say on every treaty we sign, ought to have a clause that states +"Any State or Nation must value the Free Speech of their own citizens. Any State which does not, hereby voids this treaty with the USA."

The important take away for Trump here is to realise that he can talk this way to people like Macron and Starmer who are nobodies, but he can't talk this way to Putin who is one of the greatest statemen of the modern era.

Yeah but why would anyone but a loon have actual respect for Macron or Starmer?

Jonathan Turley @JonathanTurley

...Starmer and his party have eviscerated free speech in the UK. https://jonathanturley.org/2024/08/22/the-united-kingdom-unleashes-crackdown-on-free-speech/… This is a country that has prosecuted virtual thought crimes with laws that are perfectly Orwellian.

Your comment about the UK's Orwellian laws brought to mind a video that I saw last summer. An older British citizen filmed police in his home as they arrested him for making an 'unacceptable' post on Facebook:

Yep. The Rotherham rape and pedophile rings were ignored because the perps came from a certain untouchable minority, while using hurty words about sexual perverts gets you locked away.

I'm quite surprised at how quiet many of the Deep State big cheeses are. Nothing, as far as I can tell, from Hillary or her minions, or from people like Mitt or the Obamas. I'd have thought they'd be in full "democracy in danger" mode every day of the week. Maybe, as you say, wise Kat, they are keeping a profile.

I'm not sure I agree with the conclusion, given that Veep Vance openly threatened the Brits with economic retaliation, but it's a very enjoyable read. I just wish he'd mentioned Bluto Barr, Bluto's dad, the CIA, and Epstein.

I was just going to link Childer’s hilarious and spot-on descrption of the Europeans in his latest!

“Europe is like an insane, unfaithful girlfriend who is always trying to convince you to go fight her maniac, motorcycle-ganged ex-boyfriend. No tactic is too underhanded, dirty, or emotionally manipulative for her. She is totally obsessed with it. Sometimes, you wonder whether the only reason she’s with you is to get you to fight him. Sometimes, you even catch yourself thinking you might stand a chance. And then you sober up.“

I very rarely listen to the Deep State news outlets as I have a delicate stomach. However, I caught French state news today and it was full of how the EU is going to do this and that against those nasty Russians. If you have no other source of information, it would sound like the EU is a massive powerful entity of whom every other power is terrified. Scary. I half hope they do send their "peacekeeping" force and that it gets wiped out.

I hear you! These are all the same people who bought into Covid, now going along with the war on Russia narrative. Sudradio is a lone voice, and of course Emmanuel Todd and his “La Défaite de l’Occident.” But the MSM here is unwatchable. Still, if the truth were known, the French are fed up with this war and Macron is hovering at 21% approval. Cheers!

Thanks for the French perspective. The Australian msm is just as diseased and propagandist as elsewhere in the West. It used to be that the legacy msm at least pretended to be serious about its role in informing the public but to watch it now, is to watch an absurd clown show. Lies, misinformation, disinformation is the tools of their 'trade'. The pivot in recent years is that the presenters (clowns) are well-dressed, fashion orientated, full of make up and false bonhomie and have morphed into the entertainment division of clown world. That has become our reality.

I'm quite sure, that thanks to covid that millions of devout watchers of the 'news' have tuned out. People of real power and influence, who care about the populace's devotion to the tv and of the state (the program), know they are bleeding out followers.

Longtime monarchist Starmer just signed a 100 year "landmark" agreement to provide Ukraine "security." He likely assumed US taxpayers were still bound by Truman's post WWII Pax Americana "architecture:" 1/16/2025, "KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — "U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a 100-year partnership agreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday, part of a European show of support and promises to keep helping Ukraine endure in its nearly three-year war with Russia.

The announcement came days before Donald Trump is sworn in as U.S. president with skepticism of America’s military burden in Europe and what he says is a plan to end the continent’s biggest conflict since World War II.

“We are with you not just today or tomorrow, for this year or the next, but for 100 years — long after this terrible war is over and Ukraine is free and thriving once again,” Starmer told Zelenskyy during a visit to Kyiv, promising that the U.K. would “play our part” in guaranteeing Ukraine’s post-war security.

Starmer said that the landmark century-long agreement commits the two sides to cooperate on defense — especially maritime security against Russian activity in the Baltic Sea, Black Sea and Sea of Azov — and on technology projects including drones, which have become vital weapons for both sides in the war. The treaty also includes a system to help track stolen Ukrainian grain exported by Russia from occupied parts of the country."...https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-zelenskyy-starmer-putin-uk-britain-nato-c030b163628583a322f39729160646cc

Will Americans be allowed to pray silently outside of the Israeli embassy in DC, for an end to the killing? As long as we are silent? Can we use the internet to talk about why we think the killing is wrong, and to coordinate our in-person silent prayer vigils? What can we write on our signs?

I really can't see how considering the UK as an "ally" makes much sense. THey've meddled in our country endlessly. Take your pick - the monarchists or the Marxists globalists? Which group were we trying to be allies with?

Related - saw a clip of Bannon last night talking about NATO. Talking about WWII and who was helping and who was not. Helping - Russia, China. Not helping included almost all of the NATO countries. It seems like those same countries (DenmarK, Germany for examples) are now also the places where this Vance questioning of freedom is most applicable.

Germany is even worse in terms of freedoms. And what is terrifying is that the people pushing this "in the name of democracy" have no idea they are how close they are getting to the methods of a certain moustachioed gentleman in their past.
