Haha. First time I've heard of "strategic autonomy." Sounds just like "Abandon Ship! Man the lifeboats!" in this case.

"Please President Xi, I'm sorry for my earlier impertinence - I wasn't speaking for France.... Help me (us)! We want to be YOUR vassal state instead of the U.S.'s - as long as we are ahead of those power-hungry Germans in the line of your supplicants. Taiwan? It's yours! The Yuan as the new reserve currency? Mais oui! Free trade between France and China with no sanctions on you, ever? No problem! Biden? A doddering old fool. By the way, do you know anything about funding pension programs? We would be ever so grateful if you could help us in that regard. Blackrock hasn't worked out too well for us. The WEF? Of no importance. Don't pay any attention to that woman who came with me, either. She has no idea how to run a country and control the people like you or me."

This is just too good and too much entertainment for one day. Better yet, it may mean that there is still a chance of there being no war with China.

It was wonderful seeing Ursula being forced to enter and leave China via the normal methods reserved for us mortals.

The De-Gaullisation of Macron.

- “[We shouldn't] believe we are just America’s followers”

- "Is it in our interest to accelerate [a crisis] on Taiwan? No. The worse thing would be to take our cue from the U.S. agenda [on this topic]"

Of course Macron understands how French business ties with China should continue - he brought along a whole “brochette” of corporate players - they elected him, after all. What is astonishing is Macron’s blindness to trade and commerce with Russia, a great (European - hello - and Asian) power, and the insanity of waging war against Russia. France took poodle position vs à vis the US on sanctions, the Ukraine flag was waved endlessly at soccer matches, and just as with Covid, we were all “solidaire” with the Ukrainians. A foreign policy based on delusion and willful ignorance. Xi and Yi will have a good chuckle and the Neos in DC a meltdown, as France tries belatedly, after so many lives needlessly wasted, to reposition itself on the side of “strategic autonomy,” whatever that means!!! Totalement absurde.

I wonder which country forced Macron to take a blind eye to Russia? Or was it WEF?

I don’t think he was “forced,” by the US, but there was pressure on France by the US to toe the sanctions line as Mark has pointed out. Mercouris simply thinks Macron is “dense!” He’s worse than that…he certainly came across as tedious and arrogant to the Chinese!

Thanks for mentioning he took a crew of corporate players w. him. If Macron is going to take Ursula with him, it's not really Macron who's visiting China.

Apparently the Chinese all but ignored Ursula. As a potential to head Nato (gasp), she dutifully engaged in some tough talk before boarding her plane…she is so unappealing and wrongheaded.

EU Pres. Ursula Von der Leyen is of course descended from US slave owners and UK slave traders. “Her relatives and ancestors were among the wealthiest in British North America in the 18th century, and she descends from one of the largest British slave traders of the era, Joseph Wragg.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursula_von_der_Leyen

Understood, this echoes the Duran’s take on this trip. However how does it tie in to Loungo’s theory. Aren’t Macron and Ursula WEF players along with Biden, remember the US must be taken down. I’m well versed on the matter but can’t see the forest from the trees in these maneuvers?

It would be good to have Bhadrakumar’s searching eye on the Macron trip. As we know, and as has been mentioned here, M is beholden to Davos/US government. The Chinese can well see this! In Europe it’s the blind leading the blind!

I really hate to support macron and that horrible East German woman. Can’t wait to see the Europeans tell Zhou to stuff it! What a crazy time we’re living in. It’s beyond interesting.
