Isn't that the truth. I found this take on the WEF style leaders amusing.

Interesting substack article, Cosmo. Thanks for sharing.

It motivated me to dig into post-Merkel Germany and, in particular, the Annalena Baerbock phenomenon, of which I was largely unaware.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annalena_Baerbock.

Of course, she is the German foreign minister, but largely unknown here in the U.S. One conclusion readily drawn from looking into her rise to 'power' is that there is far more nuance in world politics than one can appreciate just following the US media.

For example, among many surprising positions taken by Baerbock over the years (see her wikipedia bio), she opposed NordStream. Well, of course, she's a Green. But one has to ask, what is going on in Germany where it appears that it is self-destructing its own economy...in the name of? Again, what is actually going on in Germany?

One of the reasons the world situation is so troubling today is that it is so very difficult to unravel the many, many cross-currents and get to the bottom of all the instability. This is compounded by what appears to be the total failure of diplomacy in solving the compounding disageements.

We certainly live in 'interesting times.'
