Potentially the most significant story today may be the news that the NYT is suing to get records for Hunter Biden’s “business” dealings in Romania. The story has been picked up in various places, but I like Jonathan Turley’s article, which was picked up by Zerohedge. Turley, to his credit, has never let this story drop. I also like his continual plays on words when he references the matter:
One of our local Nashville morning talk hosts, Michael Del Giorno, has his thoughts on Biden dragging down the democrats and presented a viable case this morning. He believes Podesta is the one calling the shots and that Podesta is about to dump Biden and Harris for either Hillary or Stacy Abrams. But for Abrams, she has to get elected GA governor first to run for president in '24. This news, which finally shines a brighter light on the Biden crime family, is likely just the beginning of a campaign to bring down Biden while simultaneously leaving a weak and unlikeable Harris to stumble through should Biden not complete his term. In turn she will be ousted in the 2024 primary to make way for Podesta's pick.
IMO, the only thing HIllary is good for anymore is giving conservatives nightmares. Plus, the Dems need alternatives right now--they can't afford to wait for 2024. Again, IMO.
Hillary is only being considered because of name recognition in my view. Plus, many democrats would enjoy a Trump-Hillary rematch. The democrat bench is so thin that their choices are limited to old warhorses like Hillary and an unelected but hopeful Abrams. The democrats have really cut their own throats with a lot of help from Obama.
Then there is Durham waiting in the wings wrt Hillary. While I don't hold much prospect in Durham coming through, he is still an unknown factor in what may transpire in the next year - or more...
I think you're right that he won't agree without a fight. The key is to present him--and his doctor wife--with what amounts to a fait accompli. A case so overwhelming that resistance will appear to be futile, and even inviting a greater personal catastrophe. What's holding things up is probably what Mary refers to: The need for an alternative to Kamala. Tricky, that one.
That may well be the case. Yesterday SWC suggested that the fact Durham is clearly forging ahead is probably an indication that he has the goods on something big that the Dems don't dare try to stop.

How is it that when discussing Stacey Abrams, the similes always seem to involve 700 pound creatures?
In this case name recognition could be a very big problem.
True dat that the Times is being "used" by Dem operatives, but I suggest Zhou won't go quietly. I'll have to grab my popcorn and cherry coke.

With Senate changing hands in 9 months Kamala is dispensable. Dispensable enough to be a lame duck President. Setting the stage for HRC run.

Definitely part of the problem.
Mark - Good hypothesis of why the NY Times is doing this. My guess was a white wash.
