Potentially the most significant story today may be the news that the NYT is suing to get records for Hunter Biden’s “business” dealings in Romania. The story has been picked up in various places, but I like Jonathan Turley’s article, which was picked up by Zerohedge. Turley, to his credit, has never let this story drop. I also like his continual plays on words when he references the matter:
New York Times Sues To Get Hunter Biden Information
We have repeatedly discussed the virtual news blackout on the influence peddling by the Biden family, particularly Hunter Biden.
Despite overwhelming evidence of millions given by foreign companies and officials, the media has preferred to cover literal scoops over a story of breathtaking levels of self-dealing and corruption by the Bidens.
…
This story could be a bit awkward for the White House staff.
When the New York Times Ken Vogel wrote about Hunter Biden’s dealings as a potential “significant liability,” Biden officials viciously attacked him while others suggested that he was a pawn of Russian or Trump disinformation.
Of course, the allegations proved to be true and the infamous laptop is now considered authentic.
One of the most outspoken aides denying the entire story was Kate Bedingfield, who is now the director of White House Communications. She denounced the story as an “egregious act of journalistic malpractice.”
Andrew Bates, who is now deputy director, tweeted “SCOOP from Philadelphia: KEN VOGEL (@kenvogel ) is a COWARD.”
They will now handle questions on this story as White House officials. That includes why President Biden repeatedly said that no one had accused Hunter or his family of “doing anything wrong” when he was presumably aware of the FBI subpoena and the seizure of the laptop. Given these investigations, there is also the question of why a special counsel has not been appointed given President Biden’s past comments that have been contradicted by witnesses (as well as references to his own financial accounts in these emails).
The media and FBI investigations now cover transactions ranging from China, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, and other countries. Millions flowed to the Biden family while Joe Biden was Vice President and later as he prepared for a presidential run. Biden is still running out for ice cream and the media is dutifully covering it. The question however remains whether this will remain just desserts . . . or whether Hunter and others will receive their just deserts for influencing peddling.
What Turley doesn’t do, unfortunately, is ask the very obvious question: Why now?
Zhou’s and the Baidan crime family’s influence peddling and general corruption isn’t exactly news to DC insiders. Federal law enforcement and the MSM have had their hands full for years, burying the dirty details of Joe’s dealings, which kept popping up. And they’re not even embarrassed about it, as witness the burying of the incredible NY Post scoop shortly before the 2020 election.
So, why now, and why Romania?
Now, because the rolling catastrophe that is the Zhou regime is only getting worse. Moreover, it’s getting harder and harder to hide the fact that Zhou was installed in a DC Establishment coup and that the regime is being run by puppet masters behind the stage set. (The regular use of a “White House” set for Zhou appearances is a telling metaphor.) You’d have to be brain dead not to wonder whether this action by the NYT is being made in preparation for moving Zhou to Delaware permanently. There would obviously be plenty more work to be done—not least picking a reasonably presentable replacement—but it all starts with finding a plausible ejection button.
Why Romania? Because Ukraine. Ukraine would be easy and all too obvious—there’s already a ton of evidence out there. In fact, there’s a new story breaking today that may be complicating matters. I quote here via Don Surber, but the story is being picked up by a variety of outlets:
ITEM 9: Just the News reported, "Just months before Joe Biden forced his firing, Ukraine's chief prosecutor was told by U.S. State Department officials that they were impressed with his anti-corruption plan and fully supportive of his work, according to newly released memos that cast doubt on a key Democrat impeachment narrative.
"During former President Donald Trump's first impeachment trial two years ago, House Democrats alleged that Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired in March 2016 because State officials were widely displeased with his anti-corruption efforts and not because Shokin's office was investigating the Ukrainian gas firm that had given then-Vice President Biden's son Hunter a lucrative job.
"But the memos obtained by Just the News and the Southeastern Legal Foundation under a Freedom of Information Act request show senior State Department officials — including then-Secretary of State John Kerry — were sending the opposite message to Shokin the summer before his firing."
The swamp critters always protect their own without regard to the Constitution they are sworn to defend or the nation they are supposed to serve.
Ukraine, as I said, would be all too easy—and would result in egg all over Establishment faces. It would prove especially embarrassing given the current tug of war with Russia over Ukraine—inconvenient facts would quite likely be dredged up from the depths of the Swamp, something the Neocon/Globalist/War lobbies would be eager to avoid.
Now, it’s true that we were also hearing about Hunter’s dealings in Romania (and Kazakhstan, and China, and …) back in 2020, but Romania is another one of those places that few Americans know anything about. Perhaps the idea is to expose Baidan family corruption in an out of the way “allied” country as the trigger to eject Zhou—when everything else is in place.
Speculation, yes. But far from impossible.
One of our local Nashville morning talk hosts, Michael Del Giorno, has his thoughts on Biden dragging down the democrats and presented a viable case this morning. He believes Podesta is the one calling the shots and that Podesta is about to dump Biden and Harris for either Hillary or Stacy Abrams. But for Abrams, she has to get elected GA governor first to run for president in '24. This news, which finally shines a brighter light on the Biden crime family, is likely just the beginning of a campaign to bring down Biden while simultaneously leaving a weak and unlikeable Harris to stumble through should Biden not complete his term. In turn she will be ousted in the 2024 primary to make way for Podesta's pick.
True dat that the Times is being "used" by Dem operatives, but I suggest Zhou won't go quietly. I'll have to grab my popcorn and cherry coke.
