Re: painting Trump into a corner: Trump could very easily point to and disavow every act of escalation/provocation by the Biden admin + Paris + London and say "I wouldn't have done that. These acts encouraged war. I want peace. You voted for me and peace is what you are going to get." It is a matter of him recognizing this and of how out of hand things might get prior to him being sworn in.
Agree. I think the Russians are seeing through all of this like a bad Hallmark Christmas movie script. I would expect them to measure their response accordingly, perhaps, with a thermobaric display on a legit military target inside Ukraine.
"Fox News Channel averaged 1.9 million total viewers during the week of November 11, finishing as the only cable option to crack the one-million viewer benchmark. ESPN finished second with 837,000 total viewers and Hallmark Channel finished third with 503,000."
Give us the spanking that we (the west meddling in Ukraine) richly deserve. A true boss move so that there is no mistaking what escalation would mean, but without unwarranted bloodshed.
That's what I'm thinking, too. I'm sure the Russians have excellent intel on where NATO personnel are located in Ukraine. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.
The psychopaths are in charge, trying to paint everyone, including themselves and their opponents, into a corner. Does Trump fall for it? He should know better. On day one he simply repudiates everything the US has done so far in Ukraine and meets with Putin in person. Let everyone raise hell. Who cares - just the Ukrainian soldiers who want the war to end before they are killed or maimed.
That’s assuming that these morons don’t keep ratcheting things up and increasing the odds that some unintended consequences develop and precipitate a nightmare scenario that escapes all parties ability to control.
And these are supposedly smart and rational people? Couldn’t prove it by me!
If we on the West can see what this is then I guess Putin and his government can see it too, as well as the Russian people. I'd like to think that Putin's reaction will be measured to take that into account. I don't doubt the Russians will do something but I also doubt they are clinically insane.
I agree - he has to do something- the situation demands it. But I would guess any response he makes will be 'severely proportionate' i.e. there will be an opportunity to come back from it at some point. At least I hope so.
Maybe they'll lose access to those ISR satellites.
and so soon after a comfy, cozy reception for Trump by Zhou at the White House last week.
The EU/NATO being nudged toward the event horizon that is Ukraine. A well earned cluster-fvck.
Trying to destroy Trump? A laugher. It vastly strengthens Trump's hand by showing the world the outgoing Dems are psycho.
Provided they don't manage to start a hot nuclear war between now and January. It's not looking terribly promising.

Hey don't be dissing on my Hallmark channel...

Depends if long range missiles cause mass civilian casualties such as a school or apartment building in Russia.
