Very encouraging regarding the Iran talks. I see Rubio's continued employment as a barometer of Trump's position toward AIPAC vs. MAGA's notion of him as a "peace President." I hope Vance had some edifying things to say to the Pope.
Emerald Robinson published this on April 8th. I didn't see it until today, but had to read it after the late night decision by the Supreme Court. I wonder how much of this has been presented in court to date. If they are foreign solders operating in the US, why is this even an issue?
EXCLUSIVE: I've obtained the leaked security briefing that's been provided to Trump national security officials in recent months regarding the criminal group Tren de Aragua and the Venezuela government.
It's not a street gang.
It's the paramilitary wing of Venezuela's narco-terrorist regime.
That's why President Trump ordered the deportation of TdA members using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
The group are actually foreign soldiers operating in our country in secret.
For now, it's important to be clear that what happened at the SCOTUS last night wasn't really a "decision" in the sense of a definitive ruling. While it's not totally clear what happened, what it looks like was the SCOTUS, in effect, said: Whoa, this is getting confusing with different courts in TX and DC involved, let's just put this on hold. My guess this will be resolved one way or another next week.
11/15/2024, "Jared Kushner expected to be pivotal to Trump admin’s Middle East efforts without taking a formal job," CNN
"When he [Jared] was a teenager, Kushner gave up his bedroom for a night so Netanyahu would have a place to sleep while visiting the Kushners’ home in New Jersey....
A lot of Trump’s nominees have read, or are reading, Kushner’s book published in 2022 to understand the players and dynamics in the region, explained the source familiar with the situation....
“Gaza’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner said in March [2024].
“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner said. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterwards.”...
I hadda laugh when Peskov was asked about Rubio saying the US could "move on" if Russia doesn't get moving on the deal. Peskov's response was: That's something they'll have to work out in DC.
The U.S. is a co-belligerent. It wants to create the impression that it’s an honest broker. It has been defeated strategically on the battlefield. Spare us all the made-for-PR flummery. Pack up your death machines all across the world, go home & heal your own country.
Secretary Marco Rubio @SecRubio.
@POTUS has been clear: The time to end the war between Russia and Ukraine is now.
Today in Paris, @SE_MiddleEast, @SPE_Kellogg and I met with leaders from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ukraine to talk about how we can stop the killing and reach a just and sustainable peace.
Thanks Mark My hope remains that Yemen is the key. Existential to everything. If the US fails in Yemen and has to walk away as Biden did, then the US thinks twice about Iran. If the US stops Yemen from control of Red Sea and is somehow able to destroy capabilities, then Iran will think twice.
Either way there is settlement without an attack on Iran - that is the hope. For I imagine an attack on Iran in violation of UN brings in Russia and China under UN Article 51.
US only chance in Yemen appears to be bombing with B-1B Lancer, B-52H Stratofortress, and the B-2 Spirit with high altitude heavy bunker busters multiple strikes on one sight penetration of the bunkers and catching and igniting all Yemen underground weapons - creating a huge explosing that blows the top off the mountain and causes environmental destruction.
Not certain US is capable of that or how deep Yemen dug or how deep Iran dug. But if US is able; tremendous message to Iran, if US is incapable, tremendous message to Iran.
I'm a bit obsessed about Yemen. That was why I was looking into Yemen capability to shoot down B 52 - Iran and Russia have the means - there is only a question as to whether or not Yemen does. I believe the strikes currently on Yemen are bait to get them to disclose more positions of main weapon caches.
My swag is Yemen is more of performative U.S. attacks, than a serious action with a strategy. B-2’s are used to minimize risk (captured pilots would be a political nightmare for Trump), while showing we are doing enough to keep Israeli supporters happy in the U.S.
Using B-52’s, over 60 years old, would have a high chance of one being shot down. B-1’s are a little better on survivability, but not by much. US aircraft carrier’s lack much in the way drone defense, and their aircraft have range issues. So they are keeping a safe distance.
The real action is in the negotiations with Iran.
The official goal is making the Red Sea safe for travel by Western Ships.
I don’t think the U.S. attacks on Yemen are smart, and they puzzle me.
The US will spend more money making the Red Sea safe for travel than just having the ships routed around Africa for a while. Yes, the Houthis are behaving badly, as are many others in the ME, including the US. It's a cesspool there, and the US would do well to just leave well enough alone - but where there's a war and destruction, you can be sure the US is involved.
US provided weapon after weapon escalation after escalation to Ukraine
US Diplomacy - Set - The - Precedent
US Diplomacy - Defined - The - Rules
The US were fools jackasses - for they not only in act gave permission to Russia China Iran to do the same for Yemen - but they provided an accepted path to do so
We Just do not know what Russia China Iran have given Yemen and if the same or similar to Ukraine, whether or not it is already in storage and there were limitations on use - and Yemen only awaits the go ahead - the OK - to use them.
. I think it highly likely Yemen has much greater capability, but is using it slowly and wisely - you can see most Every Yemen Message States:
" with a locally made surface to air missile " they keep repeating that for a reason.
The conclusion/end of game likely lies in whether or not a coordinated but covert effort among Iran, Russia, and China, with Iran taking the lead due to its long-standing ties to the Houthis- exists.

Ukraine:
1. Russia NCSWIC
2. US: Hurry the fvck up! (see 1)
Yemen:
> US: Expensive show of force (munitions)
> EU/UK: Costly economically
Rubio/Kellogg/etc. false hope for EU/UK toothless clowns
Paraphrasing myself, I recently commented on MiH that I wasn't interested in trading the left's version of censorship for the right's.
There's a reason why free speech is enumerated first.

IOW, like, whatever, dude.
My Russian isn’t as good as yours Mark, I mistranslated it as, “Bite me, dude”. :-)
LOL!
"Peace presidency"?!??
Trump just BOMBED Yemen!
"Flummery." That's the word I was looking for:
Warwick Powell | 鲍韶山 @baoshaoshan
The U.S. is a co-belligerent. It wants to create the impression that it’s an honest broker. It has been defeated strategically on the battlefield. Spare us all the made-for-PR flummery. Pack up your death machines all across the world, go home & heal your own country.

and by the way, Marco, Potus has been anything but clear, which explains why you’ve been engaging in endless flummery (flimflam does the trick too).
Yeah, flummery. Is anyone else tired of this line?
"They [fill in the blank--Russians, Chinese, Iranians, etc.] really wanna negotiate but they don't know how."
Amusing video of Witkoff at the Elysees, some big dip meeting, telling everyone that the room reminded him of Mar-a-Lago.
HA! Reminds me of a scene in one of Zola’s novels where the museum-goers are dazzled by the sight of so many gilded picture frames!
Iran having the ability to quickly assemble nuclear weapons in a week gives them the best of both worlds.
Enough Nuclear capability to deter a major attack, and maximum negotiation leverage, while not causing a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.
Yes, the Iranians are not the nihilists here - the Israelis are.
Easter:
Putin announces ceasefire.
Zelensky to lead homo parade.
Remember how our anti-Christian media claimed Palm Sunday was so holy in Kiev? How about Easter?
Megatron reports that last night the US bombed Yemen. Maybe there'll be no Yemen bombings today?
.
