Hey Europe, maybe get a life! maybe attempt to secure peaceful and prosperous relationships among members? I don’t see Putin wanting to join such a flailing, fatuous and degenerate group! From Lisbon to Vladivostok? Not anytime soon!
“Trump, Vance, Putin and Lavrov will decide for us.” The rest is interesting but this where we are for now. Watch election in Germany. Brussels is indeed the problem.
This cannot work simply because Europe is currently a tar baby that needs a major overhaul before it becomes appealing to any other entity on the planet. And Russia, having endured their own bout of hard knocks during the 90s, knows that only a similar gauntlet can force needed reforms and bring about the healing that Europe needs. Both Trump and Putin are now working together to initiate this transformation while hopefully avoiding a civil unrest bloodbath. And other major powers will need to join the effort as well. There is no easy fix. The hard way is the only way.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. It's an interesting idea. But I don't think that the EU can keep up with the US in building relations with Russia.
That's not to say that Putin wouldn't shine to the prestige. Russia is doing its best to keep up with the vaccine passports, bug eating, and other Western ideas that we know and hate.
Also, the first time that Biden got out of bed as President and welcomed a foreign leader, it was Merkel in August, 2021. The goal was to talk her out of Nordstream (which Putin and Schroeder had worked on together for a long time). Merkel would not step away from Nordstream, but did agree to honor gas transitting contracts through Ukraine. That's probably what Biden was most worried about, keeping their share of the steal going (of Russian gas heading for Europe).
Elegant solution Mr Wauck, and in an alternative universe its surely going well. However, we are stuck in this shitty one (how DID we get here..?)
“The question is can Europe find a leader to get the ball rolling?”
Perhaps Orban could, but this would first require defenestrating von der lying and her commissars who wont go quietly. Maybe if Germans this weekend vote for AfD, BSW and other independents enough, they may squeeze CSD into forming a coalition government. This could begin to break the ice. In France Micron would have to flop towards Le Pen, and in Spain, Sanchez gets impeached and sent to jail.
This leaves the British rabid anti-Russia stance isolated and with a stalled economy and rising inflation and wasting money they dont have in non productive endeavours.
"find a leader to get the ball rolling". No chance. Not a single leader can do this. The EU has to be dissolved first. Then each country trickle out reach to Russia creating their own agreements as necessary. The Brits will never succumb. They hate Russia too much and for too long. That is maybe until their a Muslim country. Fleeting gold there too.
Again, I stress that this is not MY proposal. I'm simply putting it forward as an example of the type of alternatives that serious people are talking about. The author himself sees Russia actually joing the EU as a likely non-starter.
This is surely the case, but the Energy Trade Alliance (or Agreement) could be a more feasible proposition. Thanks for putting together the thread summary.
Hi Mark, thanks for the ideas about Russia in the EU or cooperating with Europe. These were not really new. Check the speech of Putin in the German parliament in 2001 (only one year after becoming president) invited by Gerhardt Schroeder. Putin invited Germany (Europe) to develop with Russia and area of economic and technical cooperation from Lisbon to Vladivostok. I find unbelievable the lack of critical historical knowledge that now portrays Putin in the most disgusting way, due to the bulldozer of neocon controlled mainstream media. Germany is currently led by a bunch of idiots that enjoy their status as poodles and colonies but now are surprised that their vassalage is no longer wanted. Obviously your neocons have never accepted a strong German- Russian alliance. Blowing NordStream was Partner the answer. The destruction of the German industrial powerhouse has always been the second goal of this long planned American war in Ukraine. Putin is still there and the dream of full Eurasian cooperation could one day become reality after those headless chicken occupying top political positions in Germany and Europe are roasted in the fires of history.
And thank you very much for your wonderful posts!! Keep strong! You are a very valuable asset in our battle for truth and justice in this crazy world. God bless!!
The idea of the former USSR with the same tendencies of its communist ideals as some kind of noble savior of Europe seems naively crazy. Europe suffers from the same historic aristocracy it always has. Until it turns itself into a representative republic, they will be lost.
The author doesn't characterize Russia as a noble savior--rather, as one nation among many acting for its national interest. That hardly seems "naively crazy". Russia's ideals aren't "communist." Quite the contrary. Those communist notions were palmed off on a defeated Russia--defeated by Germany--by the Anglo-Zionist Western cabal that financed the Bolsheviks.
Thank you for the response but I would remain suspicious of any merging of Europe & Russia. The European aristocracy combined with an authoritarian, nationalist state seems like you’re asking for a terrible mutation. Anyway, thank you again.
Gary, I'm not suggesting a thing. I'm presenting thoughtful look at what might happen going forward. As I note up front, the author **doesn't see a "merging" of Europe and Russia as likely.** What he sees is a resumption of normal trade relations. Those relations began centuries ago with the Russian grain trade, so this would be nothing new. By the way, Russia is probably no more authoritarian than several prominent EU countries. Have you checked out freedom in places like the UK and Germany recently? The EU itself is far from being a representative democratic outfit.
The EU is an economic straightjacket. Only a fool would join. It's the mechanism that made Europe a collection of vassal states to countries that control their own currency…
Nothing coming from UK can be trusted. You might try reading however, Geoffrey Barraclough (sp) "origins of modern Germany", written during WWII but published later. Germany, England, France were all emerging Monarchies with Germany in the lead. The investiture issue was won by England, (Henry II had Beckett murdered) and France King Phillip kidnapped the Pope and took him to Avinon. Only in Germany did the Papacy win (Canosa) and Germany never recovered Centuries of civil war and invasion, until unification was achieved under Bismark. . The Germans learned to survive through embracing the 'strong man' system. The Versailles Treaty ending WWI didn't help. Situated in the middle of Western Europe, Germany will always be in ascendant unless held back. British foreign policy has always been consistent since the Armada. Fight or undermine where possible whichever European power is in ascendant, Spain, Bohemia, France, Germany, Ottoman, Russia. Churchhill's pivot from "Russia good to Russia bad" in 1946. With friends like the British, no one can afford enemies. British foreign policy rests on three legs. Chaos in Europe; colonies for resources and trade; control of world trade routes by sea. take away anyone of these and over time, UK will collapse. Trump may well understand this. The attemps to keep him from being elected and then to try and impeach him was aided and abetted by the UK, if not outright instigated by them. The first place in the world we should nuke is London should it come to that.
Russia has absolutely no reason to trust anyone in the west; every European power except spain has attempted to conquer the Russians. If Russia is smart it will sign 30+ agreements and ignore Brussels and "keep its metaphorical powder dry". The Holy Roman Empire was inherently weak as the Emperor was elected from the group of electors and was almost always the weakest of the group. Once the Hapsburgs consolidated power, it ceased to be German, about 1400 and became the Austro-Hungarian or Bohemian.
Excellent comment. I will any speculation that thinks Europe can be united like the US is foolish. The US came from a brilliant idea that actually works. All of Europe including Russia is many, many different cultures that will not easily integrate into a whole. The thing they need to learn is to peacefully do that and the current attempt, namely the EU, is fucking that up royally. James comment about England is spot on. And finally with the US calling all the gold back from them England has finally found their manipulative end coming. Gotta give them credit though. It lasted what 500-600 years. Pretty good for an immoral empire.
"But no other people had pursued extermination as a permanent policy from generation to generation for a thousand years." This is garbage of course. The genocidal state has been Great Britain--from Elizabeth I until today.
But yes, Russia in the EU. De Gaulle saw it as it was crystal clear by the time of WWI. Europe "from Lisbon to the Urals." A federation of sovereign states.
But the real opposition didn't just come via Britain and the US "restored to the Empire" as Cecil Rhodes envisioned. Because by then Britain and the US were run by the Money Power, with the Rothschilds at the top and the Rockefellers and Morgans running the American franchise.
These are still the ones who run the Empire, btw.
And what are you going to do with the tribe that creates plandemics?
EU needs to learn to fight its own wars and defend itself. https://tinyurl.com/3j2swude

Maybe the "far-right" parties are the answer to how to start getting rid of the EU. It's happening.

Gosh... don't you just love common sense.

The first step is willingness to shift and transition and be open to change but... the EU hegemony won't allow for it. Long live the King!

Sorry but you should dust up your understand of Russia. It seems rather outdated.
Maybe so but I think they are the same Slavic‘s they’ve always been with a little Mongol mixed in.

European countries not attempting to conquer one another and merge into a greater and great power would be a new thing.
Like today's EU?
The EU is an economic straightjacket. Only a fool would join. It's the mechanism that made Europe a collection of vassal states to countries that control their own currency…
Agreed. Maintaining a distance would be smarter than being part of it.

US does not want to sell energy to Europe
US does not want European corporations to move to and manufacture in US
