Don’t you hate when “unexpected” “stuff” happens? GDP was “expected” to rise by a bit over 1%—yet reality somehow didn’t respond to the magic incantations of our genius rulers who seem to think they’re rhetoric controls the world. Reality getting a say is always “unexpected”:
Diplo-Speak—which means, pure cynicism, not magical incantation:
Translation to everyday language:
US politicians get their cut up front before Zelensky’s crew get theirs.
Remember Liz Truss? Now she’s telling China: We win you lose—what’s not to like? Kinda like, you’ll own nothing and be happy:
A reminder of the caliber of foreign policy people the West fields:
On 10 February 2022, Truss met with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. In the context of tensions between Russia and the West over a build up of Russian troops near the Russia–Ukraine border talks between the two foreign ministers were described as "difficult". Lavrov described the discussion as "turning out like the conversation of a mute and a deaf person". He dismissed "demands to remove Russian troops from Russian territory" as "regrettable" and asked Truss if she recognized Russia’s sovereignty over the Voronezh and Rostov regions, two Russian provinces where Russian troops are deployed. She mistakenly thought Lavrov was referring to areas of Ukraine and replied that "the U.K. will never recognize Russian sovereignty over these regions."
By the way, when do we get to vote on this, or does the UK dictate foreign policy to us?
In a keynote speech in London, Ms Truss said victory for Ukraine was now a "strategic imperative" for the West.
This amounts to the clearest statement yet of Britain's war aims which have, until now, been limited to stating that President Putin's invasion of Ukraine "must fail and be seen to fail".
She said Western allies must "double down" in their support for Ukraine.
"We will keep going further and faster," Ms Truss said, "to push Russia out of the whole of Ukraine."
It seems Truss’ rantings are part of a bigger Neocon surge to think the unthinkable, all of which amount to declarations of war on Russia. Check this out, from Neocon Seth Cropsey in the WSJ—I like Ehrlich’s idea better, because neither I or my family would win in a nuclear war:
“Two Republican senators said we might have to use nuclear weapons against Russia. That is insane. Russia has hypersonic missiles that can absolutely evade detection. There would be no human life in Washington, DC.” — Col. Richard Black
Do we get to vote on nuclear war? This guy gets it:
Is this why they’re talking about nuclear war, having seen what’s happening on the ground? NATO designed and armed defense on high ground, magical Javelins and all:
This guy is a journalist for Bild, delivering the bad news: Ukrainians being “crushed” on “many fronts”:
But a few hours later Roepcke deserted his moral high ground of “reporting what’s happening,” returned to the MSM reservation:
On the Ruble-Is-Rubble Front:
Now, let’s end with an interesting take on Musk and Twitter:
Homeland Security Secretary announces that DHS will divert veteran funding to assist aliens at the southern border.
Found this when I was curious about why Liz Truss is playing the Ukraine Card. From what I read, Ukraine seems to be perceived as a winner issue with the British Voters right now, or at least the establishment is going all out pushing the Ukraine Issue. My guess to run away from their awful handling of Covid, including partygate, the the Economic Downturn.
