I just got done reading an interesting article, similar to articles that have been popping up with increasing frequency: The Great Worker Shortage Is Causing Basic Services to Really Break Down All Across America I suppose basic services are, to some extent, in the eyes of the beholder. I can offer a recent example from my own life. Every Friday for dinner we have salmon, which we buy at a local Whole Foods. I’ve been noticing staffing shortages there for several months, as well as the sign at the door begging for new hires: “every position”. For the last month the staffing shortage has been quite apparent at the fish counter, so last week I asked the young man who waited on me, ‘Hey, are you guys shorthanded these days?’ He responded in the affirmative, adding that they should have 5 people but only have 2.
I think a fair amount of non-participation in the workforce are recent college grads who don't have to pay their loans. It's one thing to ask mom and dad to house a recent college grad to live at home while they land the miraculous $100k job, armed with their gender studies degree rather than work entry-level retail. But it's a whole other matter to ask mom and dad to make that student loan payment. I predict there will be a noticeable uptick in labor participation rates a couple months after recent college grads have to start making loan payments.
The reason I think this is a bit anecdotal, but it's my anecdote. I have no problem hiring highly skilled people for positions in my company. But entry level is impossible--as in zero applications in months of listings. Nobody wants to work an entry level job. Those are mostly the people missing from the labor market. The largest population of such workers tend to be recent college grads who need to get work experience before they can qualify for a higher paid position.
The United States is short approximately 36 million potential workers because 1.2 million (averaged) were killed by abortion each year from 1973 to 2003. We will never know the contributions they could/would have made. Another 21.6 million have been killed since 2003, most on the altar of selfishness. We have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind in every aspect of society.
Ghislaine Maxwell - I wish he was right, but the fix is in. Just like Anthony Weiner's and Hunter Biden’s laptops. Epstein’s cds missing, hmm…
Trump being radioactive - nope. Trump is a kingmaker in the gop, and is having a huge impact on primaries. A wild card is his social media network.
Midterms the gop will take the house. It’s another question if gop will do anything with their majority. The Gop has a long history of lots of smoke, such as we will get to the bottom of this Gaetz, and no action in Congress.
Medical Complex - I just don’t see the political will for any changes. So the status quo will continue.
Ivy Leagues - no change yet, unfortunately. Too much support from the elites that hire and perpetrate the system.
Stuff he missed:
Opposition to crt, this is a game changer. Both in schools and private industry. Salvation Army just found that out.
Destruction of international tourism due to booster mandates.
Crime / Soros prosecutors.
January 6 / election fraud. Stuff is slowly coming out.
Internet Giant Censorship - I expect a huge backlash. Credibility / trust once lost, is hard to regain.
Maybe a lot of moms figured that their kids were better off at home with them than in their woke, mask wearing school so if they could afford it they stayed home.
I just read Denninger’s 2022 predictions. What’s his problem with Trump and DeSantis? He even calls the latter DeSatan at one point. I concede that neither man is perfect (duh!) but they are head and shoulders above eGOP candidates of old — Jeb! comes to mind.
I hadda laugh at one of the links. A hospital hiring person was complaining that the employment agencies were "gouging" them. Let's see. The hospitals fire lots of highly trained and qualified people, experience severe staff shortages, then go running to the employment agencies for replacements. And expect costs to go down? What liberal la-la land do they inhabit?

This still doesn't answer my basic question....How are all these people who are not working, getting by? It doesn't make any sense.
