You make a very good point that shouldn't be understated. However, I do think the Dems in Congress are deathly afraid that Zhou will cost them their own seats and ultimately control of the House (there seems to be consensus now that the Senate is already lost to them). When they are coming out and presenting this as an argument to Zhou's face it does indicate a legitimate fear on their part. Politicians are above all else self-interested.
So the Party is desperately trying to save the Party, while the POTATUS desperately tries to stave off the historical humiliation of being overthrown by his own party.
If Congress ran up the 25th, would it be a good political play for R's to vote against it?
I'm not sure what is going on, but may it be painful, humiliating and ultimately disastrous for the party that has come close to destroying America over this last decade.
Test run to see the corporate and public reaction? Threat to the CEOs who are switching to Trump? Next step in the WEF's "cyber pandemic" plan rollout?
I think the author hit it on the head in that the speech was both intentional and strategic. However, it also reflected a change in Trump's attitude - more of an emphasis on unity and humility. In fact Trump himself noted this as he described rewriting the speech (the original was going to be a "humdinger"). Why would the author characterize this as a "bad speech" if it accomplished it's intended purpose?
"Jen O'Malley Dillon (@jomalleydillon) says no alternative plan to replace Biden, says after knocking on 100,000 doors in battleground states, 76% of people said they stand with Joe Biden,"
Right, of the 100,000 committed Dems they questioned 76% want him to stay in the race and the other 24% are to get answers to their questions. How funny is that. Meanwhile many Democrats have signaled support for Trump. I guess they didn't talk to these people.
There is only one possible explanation for the attempt to remove Biden and it has to be that their internal polling is disastrous. I'm talking about Trump winning 49 states and the GOP taking over 60 in the Senate. That is how bad it has to be for them to consider removing Biden.
Let me be clear. I don't think that is going to happen. The GOP can easily snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. And the Democrats never give up. But their polling must be suggesting some apocalyptic end - not of democracy - but of the Democrat party itself.
Isn't there another possible reason to want rid of him? Like perhaps, Biden incurring someone's wrath for not agreeing to carpet bomb Lebanon/Iran....ie, not being as controllable as the hidden hand thought?
Agreed. It's not rocket science. Unless they can kill Trump, get us into WW3 or cheat the election on a massive scale, they know that Trump is probably going to regain the Oval Office. With a candidate other than Biden, the final results just might be slightly less catastrophic.
Another candidate MIGHT get them within cheating range. But more importantly, another candidate might not cause the Dems to lose the House and Senate in landslides. It is a tough balancing act though. Ignoring all the Democrat primary voters who chose Biden also has serious risks.

Isn't JIll holding out for a big payoff?
Or a ticket to a country with no extradition.
Ukraine, hopefully.
LOL I was just about to type that. It's gotta be, right..?

Sadly, there are lots of people in government from both parties who have advanced this disastrous path.

Need I say more? They certainly "challenged the status quo"

US Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance refused a telephone conversation with the head of Zelensky’s Office Ermak.
Welcome to being a western Proxy, one day the world depends on your victory, the next no one really cares because the prior was fake.
But Trump DID talk to Zelensky:

Isn't there some Logan Act violation that they would charge Vance with if he talked to anyone in Ukraine right now?

Let the conservative legislation begin!

Exactly. There's plenty to play for down-ticket too.
Stephen Miller @StephenM
Nothing says democracy like holding a fake primary and then having donors handpick a nominee behind closed doors.
Harrison Krank @HarrisonKrank
How f*cked is our country when an 84 year old woman [Pelosi] is leading a coup against the 82 year old president for being too old?
Especially as Granny Boxwine was instrumental in getting her party in its current fix.
