A cynic might characterize Vivek’s statement as a sort of No Sh*t! moment. Nevertheless, the farther the realization spreads among the great unwashed the better. And, who knows, maybe even the erstwhile liberal literatti and chattering class will have an awakening, too. The Greenwalds and Blumenthals and the rest, who have become regulars on conservative shows and have even become Trump defenders, in their own ways—and perhaps for their own purposes. But, then, conservatives are also having their own Come to Jesus moments these days.
Fox has a good summary of Vivek’s remarks, after Trump’s convincing win in NH—in which 70% of Trump’s votes came from registered GOPers and 70% of Nimrata’s votes came from, well, “others”.
Ramaswamy: 'Sinister forces at play' if Haley doesn't drop out of presidential race: 'That gets ugly'
Fox News ^ | Jan 24, 2023 | Andrew Mark Miller"I think that if she stays in this race, it will continue to reveal that there are some sinister forces at work here," Ramaswamy told Fox News Digital on Tuesday afternoon as New Hampshire residents were casting their votes in the first in the nation GOP primary.
"There's no path for her to defeat Donald Trump through the front door, which means what they're actually rooting for is eliminating him from competition and then it becomes no mystery that the very people propping up Nikki Haley are the very people who are also paying for the lawsuits to keep Donald J. Trump off the ballot and the lawsuits against him."
Ramaswamy said that it was a "dark turn" to see LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, who he called "George Soros Jr.", donate to Haley and also financially support lawsuits against former President Trump.
"That gets ugly," Ramaswamy said. "And I think this could really take an ugly turn in the way that this reveals the corruption of the Republican Party itself if Nikki Haley continues to stay in this race."
Now, for those who didn’t follow the links but kept reading, it’s definitely worth following those links. For example:
Billionaire Dem donor defends bankrolling Trump accuser's rape lawsuit as judge seals funding docs
Mystery surrounds decision to hide funding details even after tech titan says he's money behind E. Jean Carroll case
Right. It’s a mystery. As if Hoffman’s not the only wealthy leftist backing this nutter. Or as if, if Trump funded a creepy lawsuit against Zhou or Hunter—of course knowledge of Trump’s involvement would be withheld from jurors. Right?
U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan agreed with a request from Carroll's lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, to keep the related documents under seal, including future filings and hearings about the issue.
"The interest in public access here is minimal, particularly given that the parties' previous on-the-record filings already afforded the public meaningful access to information about this otherwise irrelevant and tangential topic," wrote Kaplan, who noted that some files may be protected by attorney-client privilege.
Kaplan argued that jurors have no business knowing who is funding the lawsuit, claiming that whoever may be financially supporting the legal bills "has nothing directly to do with the ultimate merits" of the case.
Hoffman, one of Silicon Valley's top donors to Democratic campaigns and political action committees, has donated millions of dollars to left-wing groups. Fox News Digital has previously reported that his money also goes into non-traditional groups that aren't mandated to report their funding and often operate in the shadows. He was forced to issue an apology in 2018 for funding a group that falsely tried to give an impression that the Russian government was supporting Alabama Republican Roy Moore in a 2017 special Senate election.
While it’s technically true that funding doesn’t go to the “ultimate merits” of the case, it’s also true that lawsuits against high profile public persons are not always filed because they have merit—there are other reasons, some political, some financial, some personal. Vivek is no dummy, but then neither is Judge Kaplan. They both know that in the real world it’s not a coincidence that Hoffman is funding Haley, is funding crazy lawsuits against Trump personally, and is funding meritless efforts to keep Trump off ballots.
Best government money can buy, best legal system money can buy. It’s a twofer! And don’t forget Bluto Barr and Mitch McConnell.
Trump has been doing lots of No Sh*t! moment since he started his run for President for his first term.
Trump has shattered so many overton windows.
The major complaint against Trump seems to be he had mean Tweets, and was not Presidential.
Instead of he was dropping massive truth bombs.
I am surprised Fox covered Vivek's comments. That is suspicious. Tom Luongo wonders if Vivik is a plant.
“And don’t forget Bluto Barr and Mitch McConnell.”
I love your continued references to Bluto Barr every so often.
As for McConnell, it has been speculated that his minions “back east” may have been behind the payoff attempt caught on tape to Lake in Arizona.
