Thank you for this post on possible good will from Trump's side to its adversary. Steve Witcoff's conversation with Tucker Carlson is disturbing to me for his expressed lack of depth of understanding of situations on the ground, in both territorial conflicts. Understanding that Witcoff is representing the United States to the world, on behalf of POTUS, he presents no sense of national culpability for sponsoring the destruction of Ukraine and Palestine, and now Syria.

I'm sorry that your car is giving you trouble unpredictably; and I hope that your mechanic shows his good will to you as part of valued customer relationships.

Suppose Trump makes a speech that sounds a lot like JD Vances speech to the Euros. Of course with Trump the unknown will keep the treacherous in the commonwealth on their toes to say the least. The hens have invited the fox into their roost, be ready for feathers to fly. LOL

Mark,

Purely tongue in cheek but,

with no car you should have more time to spend in front of the computer. 😉

As for rental policy; check whether it's a dollar value or day value.

Cheers

You should be reviewing your insurance provider. Very poor show on their part.

My insurance did pay for a good portion of the rental vehicle for the week and a half that the car was in the body shop. The road service (jump) was also paid by the car company, as was the ride home for me from the dealership. But there was no loaner from the dealership and I haven't decided to go for another rental, so I don't know whether insurance will cover that. Hopefully I'll get an idea on Monday. It seems clear to me that whatever is draining the battery is the result of something that was done when the software was being updated, although why that should be eludes me.

Frustrating. This stuff can eat up hours in a day that could be more productively spent staring at a computer screen.

Justice Roberts seems to keep some pretty strange company. The whole damn system is corrupted and illegitimate.

I have the feeling that Trump is going to have to channel his inner Andrew Jackson here and do some ignoring of illegal "legal" decisions. As for Roberts, I have no faith in him whatsoever. I hope he surprises me.

A major problem is that he seems to have converted Amy to his "prudential" jurisprudence, as Margot Cleveland calls it.

Supposedly it was agreed by both "sides" to begin "peace" by refraining from attacking energy infrastructure. The Ukraine "side" immediately ignored this agreement as reported by Moon of Alabama...https://www.moonofalabama.org/2025/03/how-zelenski-is-trying-to-sabotage-trumps-negotiations-with-russia.html#more....Reporting by standard outlets says approximately, "Russia and Ukraine blame each other for attacks."...Here is "Statement by Russian Defence Ministry:"

"On the night of 19 March 2025, several hours after the high-level Russian-American talks were completed and after the President of the Russian Federation accepted the U.S. President's offer to temporary cease strikes at the Ukrainian power infrastructure, the Kiev regime launched a deliberate attack by three fixed-wing UAVs at a power infrastructure facility in stanitsa Kavkazkaya (Krasnodar region).

This facility ensures oil transshipment from railway tank cars into the pipeline system of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) international oil transport company.

As a result of the Ukrainian UAV crashing on the territory of the oil transshipment point, one oil tank was depressurised and a fire broke out on an area of 1,700 square metres."...https://eng.mil.ru/en/special_operation/news/more.htm?id=12555053@egNews...This continues only because US has unlimited access to US tax dollars. Zelensky is nothing, could be Joe Smith, bankrupt Ukraine has effectively been a Soros colony for 30 yrs. Zelensky and any Ukraine "leader" works for the US, could be dismissed tomorrow by the US.

Pretty good article by Jonathan Turley:

https://thehill.com/opinion/civil-rights/5207576-european-values-new-world-order/

Europe’s elite are very nervous there’s too much freedom of speech

This year, there is a sense of panic among Europe’s elite over the victory of Trump and the Republicans in the U.S., as well as nationalist and populist European movements.

...

The message was clear. The new world order would be based on European, not American, values. To rally the faithful to the cause, the organizers called upon two of the patron saints of the global elite: Bill and Hillary Clinton. President Clinton was even given an award as “leader of the century.”

The Clintons were clearly in their element. Speaker after speaker denounced Trump and the rise of what they called “autocrats” and “oligarchs.” **The irony was crushing. The European Union is based on the oligarchy of a ruling elite. The World Forum even took time to celebrate billionaires from Bill Gates to George Soros for funding “open societies” and greater transnational powers.**

Leader of the century? Which century? There's still 75 years to go on this one. Last century? that was 25 years ago. Why so late EU?

Amazing interview of Steve Witkoff by Tucker Carlson. It reminds me of the Russ Vought interview, in terms of the quality of the person in this senior role.
