A very long but intelligent take on Scott Adams from the always amazing Matthew Crawford (Rounding the Earth). He thinks Scott might be a paid intelligence asset. https://open.substack.com/pub/roundingtheearth/p/scott-adams-cognitive-warfare-and?r=18ihn4&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

Another excellent article Mark! I too wondered who Scott Adams was and what all the fuss was about. Can't believe the creator of Dilbert fell for the vax narrative! Good to see that he has apparently seen the error of his ways even if he's still trying to excuse his failure to do so in the first place.

I've been following you through the entire Pandemic and we here all knew early on about this vaccination. I've always trusted vaccines before. This one isn't even a vaccine. I draw the line at gene manipulation myself.

do you know abything about FBI's Charles McGonigal? Charged today in DC in connection with Albania in 2017-2018 in NY for dealings with Deripaska in 2021. He was getting cash in the back of a car from Albanians in 2018 while SAC, Counterintelligence in NYC. He's mentioned tangentially in several Russiagate documents, but doesn't seem (as of now) to have been a core participant.

No. I was in NYO in Russian CI in mid 80s. Pretty sleazy, but this illustrates the real crisis in the FBI faces, which is one of personnel. There was a retired official (name eludes me right now) who has a book out and did an interview with, I believe, John Solomon. He makes the similar point, although I think he misses the bigger picture in partially defending what Mueller did as director. The bottom line is that federal agencies, including intel agencies, no longer have any means of protecting themselves against LCD types rising through the ranks. Moreover, as a result of legal challenges the entire HR ops have been subordinated to Woke agendas. Of course there were problems before, but the degree of systemic dysfunction seems much broader now.

Re McGonigal's involvement in the Russia Hoax, I would expect that to have been relatively minimal from 2016 on simply because it was largely run out of HQ. He would know about investigations being conducted in NY--Alfa Bank, for example--but in a supervisory role. He would be very knowledgeable about Carter Page's dealings with the NYO, because the prosecution of the Russians in NY was a very big deal. I assume that the contacts with Deripaska would be so sensitive that that would explain the personal involvement of someone at his level.

"Cash in the back of a car from Albanians."

That doesn't seem real bright.

I find it strange that he is being brought to book. Is this a sign that the "white hats" may be in control after all, or just a bit of scapegoating by the FBI to pin the Russiagate on him?

I can agree that they probably knew about this for quite some time, but much of this seems to me to speculation without a factual hook. I don't think CTH knows what "normal DC operations" are, and doubt that there was a need for insurance against this guy. The delay was probably because they weren't sure how this went.

Expand full comment

This guy was on the original Russiagate team. He was one of their own. So I still don't get why they are taking him down. We know what the FBI/CIA are capable of covering up, so why not do the same for this guy? Booking him only draws public attention back to Russiagate.

I followed Adams for some time - he was the first pundit, back in 2015, to unequivocally declare that Trump would be the next President - he laid out his reasoning, and was proven right. (He later did well in 2020, predicting that Kamala would be the Dem candidate - a decent prediction when she came in as Vice.

He also gets some kudos because he invented the slogan "jobs, not mobs", which Trump ran with as his unofficial slogan for the '18 midterms.

His weakness is that he is a materialist atheist, and thus "Science" became, for him, a religion. Realising that almost every credentialled scientist in the world was literally dead wrong on every aspect of covid would have undermined his faith in other aspects of his worldview (i.e. evolution, cosmology) that depend on credentialled scientists and underpin his materialistic worldview. Hence, he 'believed' them.

"I was puzzled by his tone, by his seeming contention that “anti-vaxxers” were reacting with reflexive distrust for Big Gov/Corp" is thus explained: his faith in "Science" is unblemished, Science is still pristine - it was Big Gov/Corp that corrupted Science. And the clever antivaxxers were simply right to be more cynical of Big Gov/Corp.

Adams' admission of guilt is noteworthy, because he prides himself on being a rationalist, less encumbered by biases. And so the good guys are happy to see him come onside. But in reality, like Sam Harris, he is severely blinkered, too.

Barely mentioned in Western media was the unmitigated success eradicating covid in Uttar Pradesh province in India. 300+ million people, and use of either ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine.

Crawford has a lot of interesting stuff to say about that--big advocate of HCQ (full disclosure, my father's first cousin was the developer--or one of them--of the original version).

I thank your fathers first cousin for developing hydroxychloroquine. One of my drugs and when I heard Trump say it could work as treatment I knew for sure I’d never take shot. I asked a doctor if it would work, he said, I don’t know but some ER doctors are taking it as prophylactic. BTW, I’ve nursed daughter and grandchildren and been around people who actually spread to them and never got sick. Oh, and I’m old and have one of those ‘co-morbities’. LOL

I stumbled upon his fake mea culpa a few days ago on twitter. Most of the other “twits” weren’t letting him get away with it. The resounding response was “nobody won” but at least we are no longer being persecuted for being right.

“Adams then suggested he [had the] courage to make himself a vaccine guinea pig based on his informed decision-making.”

This reminds me of a pair of interesting essays by The Naked Emperor and CJ Hopkins regarding certain psychological tricks used to divert victims’ attention away from the full extent of what happened to them. This in the context of recent revelations regarding the Covid Regime.

Naked Emperor discusses “controlling” or “cooling” the mark (or target) of a con job. He predicts that the very sentiment expressed by Adams in the quote above will be used to soothe the population and minimize the risk of mobs with pitchforks.

https://nakedemperor.substack.com/p/controlling-the-mark-after-a-con

Hopkins suggests that Musk’s ”Twitter Files” revelations fit the technique known as a “limited hangout” — an apparent or partial admission of the truth designed to prevent folks from delving further and getting to the full truth of the matter. I have seen criticisms of how Musk handled this out there that suggest he went about this in a way that guaranteed it would have limited public impact.

Rabelais wrote sometime in the 16th century that, "Science without a conscious is but the ruin of the soul" (from Gargantua and Pantagruel).

I was unaware of this quote until I began reading Will and Ariel Durant's series of books on Western Civilization and the quote was found in volume six "The Age of Reformation." I think this succinctly states what we have experienced the last several years under the fascist regime of our health care segment and more specifically our political sphere. It's clear we are being lead down the road of perdition by psychopathic Malthusian progressive ghouls who are resurrecting their eugenics ideology and are itching for an elimination holocaust to eliminate those who stand in their way of their dystopian utopia where the elite and select humans are served by trans humans half queer. half robot and hackable.

You knew science had become a cult instead of, like, science, a form of rational inquiry, when we started seeing the meme of "settled science". As someone who had spent a lot of time on philosophy of science in my college days, that one blew me away.

Expand full comment

I don't want to get too picky here, but science as defined by Popper (falsification at cetera) remains solid. It is the issue that a significant # of and of high perchy placement of the gate keeping credentialed practitioners no longer "do science" (Fauci, which see). Among the problems polarizing the scientific fields are who judges/reviews (who controls the vote counting ... see a parallel?) how funds are allocated, who gets published (who gets to speak ... ahem), and who gets positions of authority. Chasing grant money and senicures is now "science". A consequence is fraudulent work (see Prof John Ioannodis and the crisis of reproducibility) coloring the pool water. Until the houses of science clean themselves up, trust will not return. Humility would help, honesty around "We just don't know, but here is how we could go find out"

Controlled opposition / self censorship through threats of cancellation are a real issue.

Robert Barnes has been following the Steven Crowder / Daily Wire mess. Basically huge penalties if crowder gets strikes against him by apple, youtube, etc against a promise of huge money, $50 million. And he gives control of his ip for 6 years.

I wrote almost 3 years ago now that a vaccine against a respiratory virus with an RNA base code was likely fruitless due simply to the rate of mutation. It isn't like this was a lucky guess- we have decades of experience with flu vaccines and their worthlessness.

Absolutely. And I remember. I was initially worked up about Covid the virus because I was concerned about the possibility that a bio-weapon was on the loose. A few months and some fairly easy research on the internet cured me in time for the injections craziness. As you say, the info was out there. Including research into coronavirus vaccines going back many years and the research into anti-viral properties of known drugs like ivermectin and HCQ. Total gaslighting. Huge culpability, and many need to pay for what they did.

My take on Adams' video is that he really is now seeing that the vaccines are worthless for the task assigned to them, and so needs to begin climbing down off his high horse. However, in doing so he isn't going to really acknowledge his critics were right all along, at least not immediately.

I suspect that he is suffering from some vaccine injuries.

Scott Adam’s has to be careful or he/his business can get even more cancelled / censored.

He has already lost a lot of potential income through cancellations.

He also seems to have an issue admitting he was wrong, and wrong in how he treated anti Covid jab people.

Me - I was mistaken / wrong on getting the jab, and on masking initially.

I’m furious on the lies and censorship that happened. And worried on the potential health issue for my family, including daughter and parents. I’m especially upset my adult daughter got the jab, after getting Covid. Unfortunately, I found out after she got the jab.

G'day RNO!

That link to Crawfords' 'Stack is remarkable. So much so, in spite of its length I couldn't easily return here to thank you. The link is worth the time, altho' wide ranging much of it's early stuff is satisfying enough for the click-over trouble.

Along the way, within it I encountered a link to 'The War of Wars' (a 5 part extensive study on its own but not my point). Crawford has extensive research experience, hence some additional expertise in financial matters.

Curiosity led me to this of his (link just below) of a presentation of Putin's Oct 1, 2022 speech (highly discounted by western MSM, of course) on Dr. John Day (M.D.)'s blog. (Dr Day has some minor comments within it FWIW). https://drjohnsblog.substack.com/p/world-war-three-almost-announced?utm_source=substack&utm_campaign=post_embed&utm_medium=web

I enjoy rabbit trails (obviously, that link is far-afield from The Far Side). What cause me to link to it here is that within the presentation, many references to Western Leaders and 'their having gone astray' are pretty relevant, of if you will, being exposed in ongoing events and revealed amongst other topics of this blog. From Nordstream destruction through European knowingly following Biden's lead -damaging their own citizens- to some references easily considered hyperbolic. Yet, be it just Putin the masterful manipulator, within he utilized what used to be Western Christian principles expected by us to be truths, basic within freedom, (etc.). I've stated before, it's sadly true that as our Country leaves the Judeo/Christian values so preeminent in our Constitutional founding (aka Less God, more Gov't) Russia is returning to it's Christian roots. Putin is obviously aware and really hits hard using this fact.

Does Putin/Russia suddenly become the Good-Guys of the world? Of course not. But... BUT, what's seemingly becoming apparent is the US, NATO and some various cohorts -still attempting some form of unity- are looking like the Bad-Guys of the world lately.

Being but one tree within our 'Forest', it's hard to not take pause -even seeing unclearly- what is the real 'Forest' in the ongoing Ukraine conflict and what really, or rather which Forest really is on fire? My forest burning fiercely isn't appeased by starting a woodstove fire across the street, so to speak. (Perhaps burning down my neighbors' house is a better metaphor?)

Lots of words here (my weakness, apologies to all). I hope my note here might offer an opportunity of consideration of just where we are... Blessings to All who got through this far! (WRH)

I actually had all of the above in mind, but went with nuclear for brevity and comprehensiveness--the ruling elites nuking their subjects. But you have to wonder whether any form of deflection will ultimately work. I don't want to overestimate the sheeple, but they do seem to have caught on.
