National review blog suggested that (paraphrase here) the Zhou administration suggested Israel "stand down". Can only imagine Zhou himself is sleeping through all of this in his Delaware basement.

I think it's quite possible that they medicate him and that it would be pointless to try to rouse him.

Don’t suppose any of our enemies have come to the same conclusion? Naw, I’m sure they just skip over that kinda stuff and worry about what geopolitical master stroke Zhou has up his sleeve to dazzle everyone with his brilliance and confound American enemies. Yep, gotta be it, can’t imagine what I was thinking.

"Something wrong"? I'm hearing reports of serious friction between the IDF and Netanyahu which might explain the seeming laxness and timely response. Too, the Palestinians may have taken a page from how the Patriot system was overwhelmed in that Kiev attack by RF missiles.

Hey Jo B, hope you are doing well and having a great weekend!

I sincerely hope what you (and F. Lynch commented) is not the case. Several hundred dead civilians (and over 1400 injured reported thus far) is a horrible sacrifice for politics. However, man's moral depravity is demonstrating some amazingly deep depths being plumbed. Best regards! (WrH)

G'day history-being-made followers (Sorry Mark, just a little levity in a world gone awry...)

I wonder if, thru Iran -via Hezbollah/Hamas- is participating in the broadened US/Nato - Russia 'almost' WWIII. You (Mark) mentioned in the earlier-today post regarding this Israel conflict event how the Western diminished/21st century war mongering machine is thinned beyond capacity for so many ME issues arising. I'll add a commenter noting Israel was tapped for 155MM ammo for Ukraine, plus what else we're not told, may not be well positioned as in the past for this attack. I'll note that Biden hasn't demonstrated much positive support (excepting some 'mighty-words' today) particularly after squandering the Trump Abraham Accord initiatives.

I'll leave with noting another point about how little we're talking about Biden, Inc. and it's crimes against our country... Best regards to all. (WrH)

DJL - thanks for the link. The whole article is truth well spoken by those contributors. While I've always had my issues with President Trump (personal moral behaviors, specifically), I always appreciated his providing RESULTS. Those were specifically highlighted in the Treehouse posting. We're all mortals - Grace covers that in Christ's sacrifice. Even for me, and President Trump. Blessings and thanks again! (WrH)

It seems as if Steven Miller is right. Obviously so. What is it going to take to shake people out of their stupor while the post-WW2 Great Power Peace is frittered away by the fools who are running things? Or is the frittering a deliberate method of slow destruction, slow enough to maintain the stupor? Either way it is madness.

The Israeli airforce has F35s too. What happens if it's raining over Gaza?

S'21, G'day sir!

I would think the US MIH is not wanting F35's actually in real confrontations. Their weakness, their shortcomings and their over-priced 'Whiz-bang' valuation will be exposed and profit for sales will plummet... just sayin'. Blessings Euro-Friend! (WrH)

Agreed, Wayne. Exposure to battle is very bad publicity for the MIC's prestige and profit white elephants. And now we can add Iron Dome to the list of crappy products. Have a good Sunday, mate!

Swag

The mossad / Intel agencies were distracted due to attempting a color revolution.

And Netanyahu could not preempt the attack, shades of the Yom Kippur War, due to politics. As well as being distracted due to lawfare.

And the Israeli citizens only have a 2.5% license to bear arms, mostly restricted to West Bank.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-israel-unlike-the-us-a-privilege-but-no-right-to-bear-arms/

And Hamas / Iran adapted based on Ukraine and prior Israeli interactions.

Considering where they live it is surprising to see Israelis on balconies filming their terrorist enemies rather than firing at them from every balcony. How many wars is this? Given this new war against them one hopes that they will pursue a more Swiss approach. Let every responsible adult be armed and trained to hold the line until those of the profession of arms can deploy. Meet the next wave of barbarians from your balconies with assault rifles rather than iPhone cameras. Or film them after they have been annihilated and send the videos to Gaza. If they were armed and trained to operate as a militia until the Army arrives this would be different.

I’m pretty sure that Hamas believes that Israel’s response will be limited due to Western Norms. And worst case after a bit of Israeli retaliation, they lie low till they can try again. With their Muslim brotherhood brainwashing / indoctrination of the membership you are dealing with fanatics.
