Actually, these events do give the lie to Ukrainian claims to these areas of the so-called Ukraine. Note that these events all disproportionately affect areas that are culturally mostly Russian, just like the indiscriminate shelling of Donetsk City, etc. They know these aren't their people and have no compunction about killing them or causing infrastructure disasters--shades of Ukrainian genocide against Jews and Poles during WW2.

Good point - no one has mentioned the labs recently.

Must be part of Nuland’s months of preparation statement. Guessing she thought real hard about this tactic.

Is blowing up the dam, the flooding, complicating water provision for Crimea and the nuclear plant part of a strategery to delay the Russian advance or eventual river crossing in order to buy time for a ‘coalition of the willing’ to move into Western Ukraine in order to attempt making a frozen conflict ‘inevitable?’ What happens when the Russians steamroll over our people? Did we get the explosives from Japan yet so that we can shoot back?

In a war that has video for pretty much everything, it is a bit strange that there isn't something out there, or will be. Guys have been tracking planes in the Nordstream demolition, they've got drones up the wazoo, etc, etc. Simpilicious has video of mortar rounds (he says they might be underwater mines) or arty rounds going off in the water too.

Give it a day or so. More info will come out.

Moon has plenty of interesting conjectures here about the cause of the dam’s collapse and how its timing, in particular, serves to divert attention from the failure/meager gains of the “counteroffensive.” Also Ze has been blabbing thanks to the media for their continued cover…things seem to be spiraling out of control. I notice Mercouris looks more drawn and worried by the day.

Alex Christoforou is saying that UK Foreign Minister Michael Cleverly--who was just about the first out of the gate denouncing Russia on this--made a "secret" trip to Ukraine yesterday and met with Zelensky. Hmmm. But no link.

Everyone knows who did it. And I'll give you a hint. He is a senile idiot with lots of criminal handlers.

as much as I loathe FJB and his criminal regime, that is ludicrous.

Who benefits? Just like the Nord Stream pipeline, it isn't Russia. That leaves Ukraine, either on its own or with the U.S. either just knowing about it ahead of time or possibly helping to plan it. This is a broad stroke Ukraine would unlikely attempt on its own. And if it did act completely alone, that might even be worse. It means the U.S. once again has created a terrorist organization providing instability to a fragile world. What would the U.S. do if Russia started providing heavy arms to the cartels in Mexico? Of course they don't need to do that because Biden is already very effectively destroying America and everyone knows it.

Also let's take a minute to honour those who bled on the Normandy beaches 79 years ago and apologise to them for how things have turned out.

Mercouris’ comments on BJ’s role in the Ukraine debacle are at the 1:8-9 min mark. Keen and compelling as befits him- (you recently mentioned Johnson and the by-election).

Thanks! What he provides is a mini biog of Johnson. I think most of the country agrees with him. I can't stand the man ever since his volte face in March 2020 re lockdowns. I do see a similarity to Trump though - I believe our deep state wants him gone because he proved unmanageable in the end. However, the real interest lies in what this means for our current government: Johnson + 2 MPs have quit. Tories are likely to lose the bi-elections which signals that our unelected Prime Minister doesn't have a mandate. We could be facing a snap general election which likely heralds a left wing govt headed by Keir Starmer who said a few weeks ago that he prefers being in Davos than stuffy old Westminster, so ....

Very frightening what Starmer says, that he prefers Davos to the volatility of Parliament. It’s like saying Hitler was better than Weimar: at least he brought stability. Makes you long for Corbyn, however much of a schmuck he is…

Ironically I have found myself agreeing more with Jeremy C and his brother Piers than I believed possible a few years ago. As for Kier, he is frightening. Don't know if you are aware that he was head of Crown Prosecution Service at the time the decision not to charge Jimmy Saville with all the sexual abuse the establishment knew he was committing.

Right. Mercouris writes the "petulant" resignation off to pique and resentment. Without suggesting that Johnson is a man of principle, it remains possible that this could serve as a wake up call.

Expand full comment

Bojo is no man of principle. He clearly took orders from 'someone' in Mar 20 because he suddenly about turned from the achieving herd immunity plan to full lockdown. Having said that it was clear he didn't believe in it the way say, Trudeau did - his efforts to be convincing were half hearted and he lifted lockdowns first - hence unmanageble. It would be easy to view his resignation as petulant and he is clearly furious at the machinations against him but I'm convinced what he's done this week is a chess move to bring Sunak's govt down. We'll wait and see I guess.

I listened last night. In my browser that segment starts at 1:10. Last ten minutes or so of the video. Yes, he shreds Johnson, even though he openly states that he's pulling his punches and not expressing his full abhorrence of Johnson. He stops just short of calling him a war criminal, but the idea is there.

I don't apologize for something I am not responsible for. In fact "they" are more responsible than I for the mess this country is in, they raised a generation of spoiled brats i.e. today's progressive/socialist pigs.

No ... The ones who bled out on the beach didn't raise anyone. At all. And my father who served in WW II (mainly in the Philippines and other Pacific locations), raised me to be a true and honorable God fearing and hard working man. I wasn't instantly, but he led me right.

Perhaps you should consider how much the character of this country was changed through immigration brought to us by the 1965 Immigration act. Didn't the "Lion of the Senate" promise it wouldn't? The country has completely changed and I find the opening of the doors and borders to bad actors from around the world has more to do with the increase of progressive/socialist pigs as you stated. Diversity is and has never been our strength, in fact, it has been the Achilles heel of most empires.

Ukraine has the most to gain.

Everyone knows their spring offensive has no chance, and would have resulted in huge Ukrainian casualties. They even tried a few large scale attacks that failed miserably.

Blowing up the dam gives a scapegoat to pause the long awaited Ukrainian Offensive.

how about we know we are going to lose the Crimea and screw up your nuclear power plant too. You did know that dam was needed for both cooling the plant and getting water to the Crimea which by the way the supply of which was already cut off by Ukraine.
