As usual, these tweets are hopefully thought provoking yet mostly self explanatory. First off he mark, a series of very acute tweets by George Szamuely: And this last one brings up the disaster of the Establishment’s 2020 coup in the US: Next—it’s reassuring to know that nothing could possibly go wrong with sanctions:
In the early 90’s there was a fair bit of chatter about the possibility of Russia joining. But that would have left NATO without an obvious purpose (i.e., an enemy). This in turn, would have led to NATO’s demise as the U.S. taxpayer would eventually demand that we stop paying for a useless, expensive, and wasteful alliance.
Because the US wants to *dominate* the Eurasian landmass, and Russia doesn't want to be dominated and they want to preserve their Christian culture. They want to cooperate as equals, more or less. We don't want that--including we don't want a Christian culture.
Trump is smart to stay out of this. Biden owns this fiasco, and it’s going to get worse.
Tucker Carlson seems to reflect the American popular view. It’s horrible what is happening to Ukraine, our elites are incompetent, lots of lying and gas lighting going on, and not worth risking a nuclear war to intervene.
Yeah, okay, but as the war with Davos emerges from the world's subconscious , doesn't Trump need to pick a side in that one lest he lose his populist image/popular support? I don't see how seeming to go along with the gaslighting serves any purpose. Unless, he's waiting for the collapse of the Petro dollar and he knows it's right around the corner? Pretty risky.
Neocons see Ukraine as a huge opportunity to rid the GOP of those deplorable MAGA Types.
How dare they not support an American Empire!
Reality is the Afghanistan and Iraq SNAFU made foreign entanglements toxic to most GOP voters. And the Political Cleansing of our military has increased this feeling.
Why not just invite both Ukraine and Russia into NATO? Both have at times indicated a willingness to consider itl

Bingo!
Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal just cut off Russia.
“Trump seems to be on the fence”

That about sums it up.
Pretty much.
