One has to wonder if 80-90 years from now, the global population will think about this period the same way we look back at the 1930s-40's.
Sure feels like we are today seeing a confluence of maniacal ideologues with similar, delusional, take over the world goals as was the case in 1930s Weimar Republic.
I still find it startling how little live action footage can be found of the fighting. For me, this is the biggest tell for how things on the ground are going for the Ukrainians.
Sorry, I've lost track of where I read this, but didn't I see Scott Ritter had declared that the $40 billion weapons tranche was absolutely going to turn the US/NATO war effort into victory in Ukraine?
No, Ritter's hesitation video wasn't recent. It was mainly only in a single joint interview Ritter did with Ray McGovern some time ago. Recently Ritter and Col. Ret. Douglas MacGregor have been saying almost the same things. Please see Ritter's recent interviews on, for example, Judging Democracy on Youtube. Or read his current article at Consortium News -- a blistering review of Newsweek's stenographic positive evaluations of Ukraine's military chances. Ritter is quite clear and emphatic about why Ukraine will almost surely lose.
Interesting. I've been mildly curious as to who Arkin is--but not enough to even do a search. His articles at Newsweek are patently absurd, yet one wonders, given his background, what's going on?
Moon of Alabama is reporting a failed Ukrainian special forces operation overnight intended to disrupt the IAEA inspection at the Zaporizhia NPP. Sounds a little too crazy to be true, but, hey, sanity seems to be in rare supply everywhere of late, so, you never know...
Yup, makes ZERO sense. Another thing I don't get about this conflict is why the Russians don't push back on the propaganda with things like satellite imagery. Whatever operational security that such footage might risk, it is vastly outweighed by the Russians getting their asses kicked in the public-relations war.
We are helping Ukraine . . . more like pushing her over the proverbial cliff, IMO because it's good for business. Our senior US Senator John Cornynholio III is interchangeable with that loony German female minister, the "west" is seriously in need of de-nazification and ASAP!

Absolutely.
A coworker said the same thing to me earlier this week. You have to wonder if Google's censors are getting paid overtime for their hard effort...

Ritter has two articles up at Consortium News right now. Please see "Getting it Wrong on Ukraine."

Thanks. Yep, I caught my mistake (see my reply to Cassander just below).
Just found it on Moon of Alabama dated Aug 27, 2022--but it was referring back to the late May: https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/08/ukraine-game-changing-policy-moves-that-aint.html#more
I skimmed past it too quickly to notice the comments were three months old...
Thanks, but I do believe it was more recent. I'll have to fish around in my browser history...

Very good point. If the Germans/EU are willing to freeze themselves to death and crush their economy over Ukraine, why stop them?

The Ukrainian checks cleared for the big guy - what other justification is needed?
Our guv'mint don't gotta 'splain nuthin' to semi-fascists like you.
Yes. Ritter was speaking about this yesterday too, talking about Army and Marine units having weapons systems removed and sent to Ukraine.
