Trump is most assuredly pissed off with the last administration. Gaetz will bring fire and brimstone. We'll need a football uniform on when all this is said and done. Wait till he goes after Leticia James, Alvin Bragg, and sugar honey.

Clean the vipers out of the DOJ first. All U.S. attorneys in SD NY fired day 1.

I think one of the very latest picks Stephen Miller answers a lot of these questions/worries. He will be Deputy Chief of Staff for policy. This will make him the 3rd most powerful person in DC, Trump, Wiles and then Miller. He will be the guy who makes sure all of those cabinet pick do what Trump wants. He is a super Trump loyalist and wants what Trump wants. Wiles will be his sounding board and Miller his pit bull.

Does this mean Lauren Boebert as deputy AG?

I'm guessing Trump waited until after the Senate ballot process today to inform Thune and get his reaction prior to these announcements today.

I've read that Thune has visited Trump at MAL. Deal?

Of course. Quid pro quo I'm sure.

I would expect Dems to fight confirmation of a renegade Dem tooth and nail, and they might get some GOP support.

Trump will back his nominees and will force unpopular votes. I don’t think any gop Senator this early wants to be seen as anti Trump. And Trump will fight dirty.

My guess is the senate will go into recess, and Gaetz and Tulsi will assume office.

It seems to me that AG, in particular, is much too important a post to do that way. But never say never. Gaetz is controversial for the Establishment. It's almost an in yo face pick.

From your excerpts it sounds like MacGregor and DD are confounded by Trump's actions however; Larry Johnson has another take worth taking a look at. https://sonar21.com/what-is-donald-trump-doing/

I find his thought process interesting and perhaps he has a point. Wait until he gets into office. And a pick like Hegseth (with Vivek and Elon in the wings doing the DOGE) may be a thumb in the eye of lobbyists. LJ says a former neighbor he spoke to who is a big defense lobbyist is livid. I am OK with that.

I'd like to think that Trump knows what he is doing with these appointments but based on his first term he probably thinks he will have more control over them than he actually will. On top of that they view the world through a false narrative and will give both bad information and bad advice. Who in the cabinet will be objective and call bullshit on their wishful thinking?

@RealScottRitter

Well, America, we just found out the price of a President.

Miriam Adelson bought Donald Trump for a cool $100 million.

Best investment Israel ever made.

Worst sellout in American history.

Seems like I recall someone touting Trump taking the money as a good deal, as he will not be running again, and not truly bound to Ms. Adelson by it. I could be wrong.

No you wouldn't be wrong. I would have been wrong If I had said that--which I did. I didn't think the sellout would reach this, let's say, depth.

In semi-defense, I wasn't the only one who was fooled by Trump. Chas Freeman acknowledged that Trump cleverly used anti-war pro-peace rhetoric. Aaron Mate acknowledged that Trump voters had reasons to vote Trump.

Mac: A lot of people invested very heavily in Donald Trump for the purpose getting him elected [to] back the war on Iran. That needs to be understood. It's very difficult for him to ignore that, even though it's in the interests of the American people to stay away from that option. Anyone who thinks that money in politics doesn't buy you anything is wrong.

Bite mode transition to Bark mode. These announcements are IMO intended to project strength from a US perspective to our global adversaries and partners. Perhaps to pivot others to understand the US hegemony around the globe without starting trouble. Whether this will work remains to be seen.

Colonel, they still can’t give them the weapons without Trumps ok and I don’t think they can get it. They are there to do his bidding, not stonewall and lie like Mattis did. If they do they will be gone.

Really? What happened to the people who lied to Trump about withdrawing from Syria? Once they're confirmed Trump loses a lot of control, and they have multiple ways to do their end runs. It doesn't have to be open defiance.

Mac, after listening to Tulsi warning Trump against a SecState Rubio as, essentially, a Neocon betrayal of his supporters: "He [Trump] has hitched his wagon 100% to the Zionist cause in the Middle East, which means war to expand the state of Israel and destroy everyone that Israel doesn't like or fears. That includes, first and foremost, Iran. I think he and his team are committed to that objective. That's where we're headed. If anyone has any questions about it, start paying attention to what people actually say. At some point you have to listen to people and believe them."

I imagine people like Tulsi, RFKjr, Tucker Carlson, et al. are feeling betrayed by Trump’s political shell game. As the foreign policy this all portends will almost certainly hobble Trump’s proclaimed domestic agenda, I expect some of them will soon jump from this already sinking ship.

Mac comments: There's nothing more reliable than a man who can be bought with cold hard cash. That's Ratcliffe's new priority, given to him by the people who bought him.
