Jonathan Turley has an updated and expanded version of his NYPost article on Jack Smith’s motion to gag Trump pre-trial. Turley has long questioned the use of gag orders on First Amendment gournds. Such orders, as I noted recently, have become rather common in federal trials. In past tweets and articles on the Trump case Turley continued that trajectory, but he also maintains that this gag order would be particularly dangerous because this trial is different—it is essentially based in politics and, thus, any gag order would necessarily involve political speech. I think he explains this well. I certainly hope that the collusion of the prosecutor and the openly biased judge in this case does lead to the early appeal that Turley foresees.
Smith and Fanni and the others pushing this are in way over their heads. They are losing public support and everything they do only makes it worse. What good is it if you keep power and silence the opposition when everybody knows you are a sick joke. Nobody will challenge your authority, but then nobody starts up with a rabid dog. The test will be when you need positive public support for anything, and it will not be forthcoming. Everybody is asking whether we will get our government back again, but the real question is whether the government will ever again command trust, respect and even the love of its citizens.
One has to wonder how much more his poll numbers would go up if he was arrested by the goose steppers for not playing their lawfare game. A showdown might be the best remedy to the travesty that is taking place.
I don't know if you're serious or not, and I'm not sure it would work, but . . . Oh, how I wish President Trump would do this. I think it would be great. Surely there are other people like me (and you) :) who are sick and tired of the total and complete unfairness of how this man, his supporters, and his voters have been treated and maligned since 2016. There ought to be tens of millions of us and they need to be emailing and calling their senators and representatives (even if they are democrats). I keep asking myself when will the average American who believes in the fair application of our law stand up and say 'enough is enough'. I realize there will be other commenters who will say 'it's no use . . . look at what happened to the 'average J6er' who just stood in the crowd and watched and landed in prison . . . the other side, the 'average Democrat' seemed to be enjoying rubbing our faces in the dirt and they'll stand behind the left and this prosecution and it can't be stopped . . . I know all of that, but I'm truly sick of the way our government has turned into one that governed like the Soviets or East Germany's or some Latin American banana republic.
How? What does that even mean in this context? You guys make these statements but never define what you mean. She’s just waiting for the chance to throw his ass in jail and he’s going to sit there and rot. There’s nothing anyone can do about it because it will take forever for the system to hear his appeals. By which time Nov 2024 will have come and gone and bastards will have won again

Trump needs to ignore any gag order. I doubt he has the ability to stick to it anyway, thank God.

Then PDJT turns to the doppelganger and the doppelganger continues,
"Jack Smith is a piece of sh!t. So is Chunking, look at her, a real live corrupticrat in a judge's robe. etc"

Trump will just have to defy any gag order and dare the judge to put him in the pokey.
His popularity would go through the roof. Remember what has happened with each new indictment, the mug shot, etc.
