Those are Scott Ritter’s words. I think they make a lot of sense. However this assassination attempt plays out, it sums up the way I feel about it. Scott made this statement in the course of an hour long marathon on Ania K’s Youtube channel with Larry Johnson. Here’s an edited transcript to give you the gist:
Trump was Epsteined--there's no other way about it. Accidents like that don't happen in federal lockup. Yeah, Epstein was murdered on the orders of somebody. [And Bluto Barr knows that.] They replaced the guards with people who weren't trained, the camera stopped working, everything no documentation, and Epstein is killed. Donald Trump was Epsteined. He's supposed to be dead right now, he's not supposed to be alive, we're not supposed to be talking about this right now. This is a huge problem for the idiots who came up with this because I don't believe that this was a well-planned operation. If this was a well-planned operation Donald Trump would be dead. Yeah, I believe that this was a panic operation because, take a look at what happened in the courts. The Establishment, the Democrats, whatever you want to call them, have been trying to kill Donald Trump politically for some time now, and they have failed, and he just won some major Supreme Court decision, ... their entire effort to make sure that he can't run for president has failed, and now he's up there. This was their last chance before the convention to get him. This is my firm belief.
Do I have any evidence to back up anything I just said? Absolutely not! which is why I'm normally reticent about talking about it. ... I'm not the biggest Donald Trump fan--actually, I'm not a Donald Trump fan at all! I am a fan of the United States of America. The differences we have as a nation must be worked out at the Ballot Box. If you don't like Donald Trump, don't vote for him--go out and vote for the other person. The people we're supposed to trust with protecting the institutions--and it's not just the Secret Service. Understand that the FBI has to be involved in this as well the National Security Division [Agency?] is involved, and these are the guys that initiated Crossfire hurricane in 2016--a totally manufactured case. These are the guys that criminalized a documents case that should never have been criminalized. These are bad people, these aren't good people. We have fundamentally bad people and now it turns out we have bad people in the Secret Service because none of this happens if you have a good special agent in charge. [I.e., Ritter goes on to explain that the SS SAC in Pittsburgh should have told the people above him: either give men the resources to do the job or I'll shut this rally down.]
I agree with all of that.
Now, there’s much, much more to the discussion, and I highly recommend it. Fropm the assassination attempt the discussion moves on to geopolitics, what to expect down the line, etc. Ritter criticizes Trump harshly, yet also suggests backhandedly ways in which Trump could have a positive effect in the major geopolitcal areas of conflict. Larry tempers Scott’s criticism of Trump and Vance, while acknowledging problems in their views and rhetoric. Whether you agree or disagree, I believe if you listen closely and reflect on what you here you’ll benefit. They talk about both Russia and Palestine. Here are some of their consensus views.
Palestine? Lots can and almost certainly will happen between now and the election—none of it will be positive for Israel. Ritter quotes Trump as having said in an interview, implicitly, that the problem is that Israel won’t negotiate. That will be Trump’s big challenge—to force Israel to negotiate. Here, Ritter, who really really dislikes Trump, acknowledges that Trump’s track record shows that he will adapt to reality.
Russia? Russia is in this to win. They adamantly did not want this war, but now—having this war forced on them by the Anglo-Zionists, having lost 100k young men—they are absolutely in this to win it. Odessa, Kharkov, and who knows what else are gone, and the likelihood is for a greatly intensified Russian offensive, even as Russia is prepared for a long term war that NATO cannot seem to grasp. Putin’s draft treaty calling for moving NATO back to pre-1997 size? That’s still on the table.
There’s much more:
“These are bad people, these aren't good people. We have fundamentally bad people”.
Scott was referring to high level bureaucrats in the security services, however, it precisely describes the overwhelming problem with ALL federal government agencies. The government selects specifically for bad people in most, if not all, management positions. This process breeds and selects for liars cheats and thieves and moral corruption. Talentless yes-men are cloned and promoted. This inbreeding guarantees a continually diminishing number of honorable and competent people to run our affairs. This is what it is.
I'm very open to Barnes' theory re Iran--reread if necessary:

Where he loses me is when he suggests that the guys on the stage with Trump were all in on it. He claims that their reaction was, Whoa! He's still alive, how do we let the shooter have another shot?
No. These guys were literally amateurs--DHS personnel who worked ordinary investigations and were suddenly told: Today your security for the FPOTUS, but don't worry because this is a "loose security event". They looked like amateurs because the WERE amateurs. The locals were also amateurs at this. They may have done crowd control and so forth, but not presidential events.
The place to be looking is the SS chain of command, the timing of competing events and so forth. That's where the real facilitation would have occurred. Who decided this would be "loose security," without the see through protective barriers for Trump, etc.? Congress has to make a BIG DEAL about seeing the Op Plan.
