My guess is that Russia will seek to establish a mid-Med naval base in Libya.

Excellent review of US “poking the bear” and lying about it, over 30+ years. Trump better get a handle on the realities (Tulsi where are you?), and soon.

…and Schryver’s article, addressing the dimwits in the military punditry (and their convictions that Russia is weak), can be added to Trump’s reading list. All anathema to the waxen-faced Blinken and cohorts, and explains why T is “threading a needle” - treading at this point lightly…

Reminds me of what the “tiger” Georges Clemenceau, president of France in WWI said, “War! It is too grave to be left to the generals.” (“La Guerre! C’est une chose trop grave pour la confier à des militaires.”)

Russian Foreign Ministry says Moscow is not willing to make concessions on Ukraine

Reuters ^ | December 11th, 2024 | Unattributed

MOSCOW, Dec 11 (Reuters) - The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that Moscow was not ready to make concessions when it came to Ukraine and that President Vladimir Putin's own proposals on how to end the conflict needed to be implemented.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made her comments in the context of a call by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday for an immediate ceasefire and negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end "the madness."

Great work Mark, in providing the sort of information we as observers and participants, really need to try to piece together what's going on in these trying times. Also appreciated is the aggregation of other voices, to counter the narratives spun by mainstream media operatives. Yes, I say operatives as I do not discern these characters away from narratives pushed for the sake of agendas.

Many of us in our walks of life, are doing our part to consensus crack system effort and resources used to build or sway public opinion. It's working. The system will be obliged to become overly censorious and in the 'noticing', people will begin to abandon the lie (democracy) in droves. Their power relies on belief in the system.

This sounds really encouraging, but I do believe Russia has not just the right to, but the obligation to, reply kinetically. If it's the last thing Biden's party wants it's to hand over a poisoned chalice. And I fervently pray it is their last act in what has been a truly terrifying Presidential term. But if the Hazelnut is not sown again it sets a far too ambiguous tone.

I think your comment aligns with my own - I'm beginning to actually hope that the Russians will blow some s**t up. Much as I'm ashamed to admit it.

Sounds like idiocy to me. For starters, Russia didn't "fight for" Syria for 9 years. They supported Assad's regime, but they didn't impose themselves--Assad moved away from them. Color revolution in Georgia? 2008 Russia invaded Georgia. Road to Iran open? Not really.

ABC News of all places ran a piece today that over 1 million Ukrainian soldiers have been killed. Now they tell us? A story like this was ready before the election. What happened to the New Winston Churchill in Ukraine and Lindsay Graham’s best money ever spent? The msm doesn’t run stories like this without permission.

Both Yahoo and MSN report that NATO says 1M total for both sides. ABC has nothing.

Macgregor:

BREAKING: ABC News reveals that one million Ukraine soldiers have died in 2.5 years.

This is another failure to check sources by Macgregor.

Sometimes Trump reminds me of the Queen in Alice in Wonderland - “ Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Putin will help him believe in the possible with regard to ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump has his own public to be concerned about. He cannot allow the appearance of being bullied or even just blustered into a settlement. Of course he's not going to engage in public back and forth. His response will likely be in actions. Laying down tough conditions. As for Kellogg doing fact finding, the first thing he needs to do is find his own ass. The Russian Dep FM openly laughed at the idea of Kellogg conducting negotiations.
