Not enough people know this. Kudos for bringing it up. There is a LOT that has been hidden from us regarding that time period. Time to bring it to light!
My theory on Trump avoiding talking about Covid is that it’s a campaign strategy. He wants to fight the election on issues that voters care about where he is the clear winner like the border and the economy. Covid is a loser issue for Trump so he just doesn’t mention it. His refusal to condemn the vaccines or acknowledge his own role in implementing other Covid measures like lockdowns deprives the Dems of an opportunity to attack him on an issue on which he is vulnerable. Trump is setting the election agenda to suit himself.
I like your theory and it makes a lot of sense. I don't think Dems want to reopen the Covid debacle to beat him up since they have more glaring problems than he does as the primary players were largely life long left wing bureaucrats. I think the base, though, would have liked him to acknowledge this as an area he failed and promise to do better. It speaks to the criticisms of not picking good people or people that were trustworthy. I believe he would do better in a second round in the white house, but if he wins the pressure will be even greater and the issue becomes who do you trust. That will be his biggest challenge.
I agree. Trump never acknowledges his own mistakes - I think partly out of ego and partly because they would just be pounced on and exploited by his enemies. Politically the best thing he could in relation to Covid is say nothing until he’s back in power.
I think we're dancing around the truth here. Biden is a pure disaster for America, but there is no evidence that Trump will do anything to improve things. Of course, he isn't going to reveal his plans at this stage, but what exactly is he doing to make sure that his second term will be different from the first? How is he planning to overcome what will be even more insane DS opposition? I don't see anything planned. As far as Israel is concerned, I don't think he is engaging in any deep-level electoral fence-straddling here; I think that this is what he genuinely believes. What's more likely to happen in Jan 2025 if he wins? He picks up the phone a la Reagan in 1982 and tells Netanyahu to cease and desist immediately; or he just goes along with whatever Israel (and his Jewish in-laws, AIPAC) want? I leave the answer to you. I'm sorry if this sounds defeatist, but I don't seen anything that tells me that he has learned a damned thing.
Leadership - an apparently lost concept. I suggest it's no longer 'voting FOR something' anymore. It's NOT voting for 'something THEY might do'. Yakov Smirnoff wouldn't be funny in today's US. 'What a Country' without the explanation point just doesn't do it... (WrH)
I'm not so sure. I figure as others and Mark have suggested the Deep state will push back hard if they don't like something. Undermining Trump is on their mind at all times.
I agree with your general sentiment here. Having taken to heart very early in life that thing about idols and clay feet, I, too, am not expecting a savior to resolve all of our ills. Just something of a respite from the long-planned, well-coordinated, firehose approach of the successor ideologists, so that we, the normies, can regroup and regather our footing a bit while the freaks further flail themselves out in anti-Trump rage.
G'day all, Lesser of 2 evils, in my view. Less than perfect alternatives is true, of course.
Bombast and Mean Tweets, (or is it now something like "Z-ing"?) stir and rouse 'the base'. I tend to go with the 'after the money' versus after votes. Word is the dems are likely going over a billion $'s more in election-spending. What is difficult is our Presidential election seems to have devolved into a popularity contest of sorts. The dems don't present qualifications or ideas and the (current) rep candidate isn't proposing ideas but rather staying with "Not If I Were President" sloganeering. I suppose I'll hope for better staff choices and a willingness/resolve to turn the present (debacle) system on it's head somehow. Maybe the ongoing assault against Mr. Trump coupled with no re-election concerns will truly unleash the savage tear down of the swamp. I do not think seeking hearts and changing minds have much, if any hope to swing an electorate into the Truth, Justice and American Way concept that would bring what's really needed to return us to a Godly, Originalist Constitutional USA. Man, this sounds bleak. Sorry 'bout that. Guess Super Tuesday didn't win me over... (WrH)
The Dems haven't even begun to fight yet where election fraud is concerned. It's going to be very nasty. I don't think Trump will change anything, but I hope that your wish comes true and that, if they do take him out, there will be a massive populist backlash. I don't see how the Dems can steal this again without any consequences. Stay safe over there!
I agree Steg. It's gonna get nasty. Just look at Maddow, Psaki, Reid from last night's coverage on MSNBC. They are bitter and vindictive. One track group think mindset.
Thanks S'21. Interesting times is pretty inaccurate. Terrible/terrifying times, hmmm, well if not alluding to fear might be apropos. But I fear God and endure this sham, 'er, process we call an election. I need to be more positive! Perhaps if the subject were, um, lunch? Sorry, you're probably dealing with dinner! Very best regards good sir! (W)
Hey Cas, Thanks for your note and encouragement. I've stopped watching 95% of TV (1 show a week!) and just read a few news-feeds and info posts, such as MIH, attempting to stop falling for the glum stuff. Alas, it's a tough balance of being informed and being, well, depressed...
You have good points - patience and perseverance being necessary for good outcomes. I find relief and encouragement in Prayer as well. I shared with my men's group that seeking God 1st may not change what happens today, but it changes how we are when it happens. Hard to think of that when the dark creeps in around the edges tho'. Blessings - hope you have a great week! (WrH)
Constantine's ventures I'd been aware of - Pelayo I'd heard of, but not really looked into. I've always wondered about the years, (nay centuries!) of Moorish occupation, (is that appropriate? They did 'occupy' for so long they probably came to believe Spain was just part of 'their own' land, so to speak). Thanks for the info - I enjoy History (why I found Mark's stuff) and this past few minutes was a blessing for me. I always appreciate your insight - and am grateful for you taking time to write to me today. Best! (WrH)
Trump is living by the old axiom that
"If your opponent is tripping over his d ck, stay out of the way and let him keep doing it "
Of course momentum could get him stuck in a quagmire one way or another, particularly if Zhou deliberately pushes it past a tipping point.
“Finish the job” much like ‘final solution’ has a terrible ring to it.
It's ironic that 'the final solution' was coined by jewish author Theodore Kaufman in his 1941 book
'Germany Must Perish' where he called for the sterization of all Germans.
