Thanks very much, Mark. Very nice overview of the dynamics driving the Ukraine conflict at this point in time, in particular the fears of the Europeans. To add to the point that you often make, and that is made in this podcast, about economics being a driver:

The Europeans know that the Fed is no longer their friend. I don't suppose one can blame them for wondering how they are not going to end up being an economic shambles after Ukraine is over - which I suspect they see coming soon. (Although they can most certainly be blamed for getting themselves and their countries in this mess.) Lagarde has done everything she can think of to keep the ECB ship afloat but she too is running out of time quickly.

Sure seems to me that the real “desperation” isn’t coming from the Russian’s, who were supposed to be living in the rubble of their collapsed economy and failed military adventures by this time, but from the US and it’s allies. As many of us here have mentioned on numerous occasions, time is on Putin’s side and anyone with just a few functioning brain should be able to see this fact. To paraphrase William F. Buckley Jr., the neocons apparently “don’t have a keen grasp of the obvious” and that deficiency is going to cost them dearly. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving group.

Biden’s big adventure to Kiev was driven by his polling, -15% per Rasmussen.

So what will be Biden’s next action to turn around his polling?

I was surprised the US did not use the earthquake as an excuse to reduce sanctions in Syria and stop the policy failures there, the Saudis obviously did.

Thanks for posting this. I'm so happy there's positive news about Syria! Without provocation US illegally seized one third of Syria a few years ago, continues to occupy it today, steals oil from the land, prohibits starving Syrians from growing food on the land. US military will shoot you if you try to access the land. Syria would be quite justified in bombing the US and seizing one third of its land. Why does no one ever retaliate against the cruel, genocidal acts of US ongoing since WWII which US taxpayers are forced to finance? The entire US political class has done nothing to stop Ms. Nuland for decades. Not one will stand up for us. Unless Russia succeeds in their current efforts, US taxpayers will forever be chained to the US war machine.

G'evening Mark,

Our upside down world so well depicted with Putin speaking to Biblical-morals and legitimate western debasement while the US President is attempting to rally the 'western coalition' in Poland while "Rome" (US and NATO countries) burn.

I do hope you are able to submerse yourself in Ash Wednesday - to fully recharge, or perhaps more accurately -recover- from your work sharing via this blog. All soldiers, law enforcement officers, EMTechs and others serving to protect our civilization - who must face the evil that wars constantly within it - need such time to maintain sanity. Please do not sacrifice the opportunity this day provides you to be with your family and loved ones in honoring our God, our Creator and Redeemer. There is no higher calling.

Thank you for this 'stack, for your service for our country w/the FBI and I suspect many other unspoken ways. It is with great respect I am privileged to be able to speak to you in this format. If nothing else, please take away my deepest appreciation for all you do. My very highest and best regards sir, (Wayne, writing from Weiser, Idaho)
